Part numbers for 2010 silver automatic shifter bezels

Post by vibenvy »

As some of you 2009 automatic transmission Vibe owners may or may not realize, the black piece around the shift knob that houses the P R N D etc. was changed to silver in 2010 Vibes. After quite a bit of research and final verification from GMPartsCenter.net, I completed this little "modification" to both our 2009 Vibe GTs, so I thought I'd post the part numbers here for anyone who may want to do this to their own 2009 Vibe.

2010 Vibe 4-speed automatic silver shifter bezel: #19205019 = 2009 Vibe 1.8L Base automatic & 2009 Vibe AWD
2010 Vibe 5-speed automatic silver shifter bezel: #19205020 = 2009 Vibe 2.4L Base automatic & 2009 Vibe GT automatic

This is a relatively inexpensive modification costing less than $50.00 shipped for a brand new part. Installation is very easy. Simply unscrew the shift knob, carefully use a small flathead screwdriver to pop the black piece out (there's a small notch right under the household outlet button), pop the new silver piece into place and screw the shift knob back on. Voila! You've got yourself a new, perfectly matched silver interior piece that will add a little more color to the interior of your 2009 Vibe without costing you a ton of money or alot of time.

try gmpartsdirect.com. click on accessories tab, and enter your vehicle info. $69 plus shipping / handling (which can be expensive).i think what you're looking for is a chrome applique that they call a decal. it's probably a plastic overlay with adhesive tape applied to the back side. they list 2 part nos., depending on transmission RPO.one is probably for manual transmissions, the other for the autos. check your RPO code to be sure.MVD = GM PART # 19171212MVA + MVB = GM PART # 19202931caution: i bet this will reflect sunlight at any angle. i had a car once with chrome trim around the shift lever, similar to this. no matter where the sun was or which direction i was driving, it seemed like the sun always reflected off this trim piece and into my eyes.

I am looking for the silver painted piece that came standard in the 2010 Vibes (shown in the pictures in my original post). In the 2009 Vibes that piece is black. I went through every single category on GMPD and couldn't find anything. I guess I'll just have to go to the dealer and see if they can track it down for me .

Yeah, the piece around the shifter and the center of the shifter knob on my 10 GT are silver.Somebody posted the chrome piece that goes around the shifter, I think that was a bit too much "bling".

I am in the process of trying to get the chrome overlay for the shift knob though because I think that would look good without adding too much bling to the interior.

Assuming you have a 5-speed auto... unscrew the shift knob and simply use a small flathead screwdriver to pop the silver piece out of place. There is a little notch right under the 115v button to put the screwdriver into to help pop it out of place. Thanks a lot!

Ok, here it is. It's interesting that the part was made in December of '08 according to the date code. These are the oly numbers, the "good side" is painted silver.

Thanks for the help vit. I really appreciate it . Mine has the same numbers on it which obviously aren't a part number . My date code is June of 2008 .I think I tracked down the part number on GM Parts Direct though *fingers crossed*. I emailed their customer service to confirm. If it is indeed the correct part, I will be sure to post the number in this thread for any other 09 owner who may want the silver shift bezel.

That and I don't even know how to drive a manual . I will definitely post pictures and info when I get this "mod" accompolished. I actually have half of it on its way already from eBay .

I emailed GM Parts Direct yesterday and included a picture of the exact part I was looking for and supplied my VIN. According to them, the technical name for this part is instrument panel extension upper trim panel - gray and the part number is: #19204491. I went ahead and ordered one. It was $62.04 shipped from GMPD. I really hope it is indeed the correct part . Assuming it is, I will of course post pictures once it's installed .* EDIT: The above part number is incorrect. The correct part number is: #19205020 and the name of the piece is transmission shift control selector. It is $44.37 shipped on GM Parts Direct. *

Plus it will be much easier to just remove the black one and snap the silver one in its place, rather than trying to paint, etc. .Mine is supposed to be arriving tomorrow so I will be sure and post pictures !

Well, just as I feared they sent me the 2009 black one instead of the 2010 silver one . I just emailed them about possibly returning/exchanging it, but I'm sure they'll probably just tell me I'm SOL.I can say, the price actually isn't bad because you get the entire asembly around the shift knob, including a brand new LED for the shift indicator.

It adds a little more color to the interior without being too over the top, plus coupled with the chrome shift knob overlay, it will make the interior stand out a bit from all the other 09 Vibes around here (GV).

I edited the post where I had listed the part number given to me by GM Parts Direct. I emailed GMPartsCenter.net last night and this time I believe I truly have the correct part number. The part number is: #19205020. The part is called transmission shift control selector. It is $44.37 shipped from GM Parts Direct.I am just waiting to hear back from GM Parts Direct about whether they'll give me a refund or not. Hopefully they will, then I can turn around and order this part number which will hopefully be the correct part this time .

Post when you find out! I prefer the silver color also. It's just that much more of a customized interior to match the outside. Not as much work as some of our other friends who have red Vibes and try to do the same (ponta), since our interior pieces are already silver! YAY FOR US! !!!!

In fact it is probably the most common color when it comes to two-toning and accenting ALL the other base colors. On my sons Dark Blue Vibe, his pinstripe is silver and If I pinstripe my Red Vibe it too would be silver. Wheels, trim pieces, knobs, etc. all look better if a shade of silver/chrome is applied.

#19205020 is the correct part number for the silver shift indicator bezel for the 5-speed automatic transmission. It has a nice smooth surface just like the rest of the silver interior pieces.

Anyone know if the silver on the Matrix matches that of the silver on the pontiac? I want to replace my center peice with one from matix. The matrix has a little clock in there, which I don't care for, but there is a spare switch location which I want to utilize with a toyota rav4 heated seats switch. One one side there would be the standard 115v switch, on the other the heated seats switchthis is a pic of the console and a pic of the switch attached

Re: Part numbers for 2010 silver automatic shifter bezels

Post by vibenvy »

Okay, so I realize there have been no posts in this thread since December of 2011, but I wanted to revive it by editing the original post to include the part numbers for both the 2010 4-speed and 5-speed automatic silver shifter bezels and adding current pictures that will actually show up. I am also including the information here...
