They're two different engines. The Aveo has the 1.6 Ecotec Gen III engine, while the Cruze has the Ecotec 1.4T and 1.8. Also, Cruze has upper 130 hp for both engines. The 1.6 (not available in America) has the 111 hp. It may be the same engine, just newer tech or something like that.

My brother and hos wife just bought one.They like it alot, but i feel it's generic looking. Kinda like all the new Chevy sedans...

Sure it is becoming generic - they were the best-selling car in the US for the month of June. Take THAT Camry...The hatchback looks good though. Unlikely it'll see US soil though. http://www.caranddriver.com/ne...shows
