2010 Vibe 1.8L Intake Question

Post by mf3rr0 »

Hey all, I searched to no prevail, maybe someone else will have a better answer for me.Will any of these intakes install into a 2010 1.8L Vibe? The Matrix intakes are 2.4L only T_T... If so, is there anyone which you would recommend? The Injen is my choice as of current.http://www.ptuning.com/html/It...rollah ... ollaThanks!

I'm not really too familiar with the 09-10 1.8Ls, but this picture on the K&N website shows the engine compartment of an 09-10 1.8L Corolla and to me it looks the same as the 09-10 Vibe 1.8L, so I would assume that means any of the three you posted should fit.K&N makes a short ram intake that should fit your 10 1.8L as well. I would personally get the K&N. Myself, along with many other 09-10 2.4L owners have the K&N Typhoon and we all love it. The installation is easy and the fitment and quality are excellent. Plus, since it's a short ram intake, you wouldn't have to worry about possible hydrolock when driving through rain, snow, etc. Just my $.02 though .

Actually, they aren't very many 09-10 1.8L owners around here, so I don't think it's been asked very many times, if at all. Can't wait to hear what you go with and how it fits, performs, etc.

I did make my own intake using spectre parts for my 09 1.8 it works just fine and cost a lot less than the K&N one.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=42087

I have an '09 1.8L and got this SRI: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...oriesI love the thing -- definitely improved performance and it sounds great! Easy install too -- just make sure you disconnect your battery and are extra careful with the AP sensor.

Well.... what's the word after some behind the wheel time!?!?Any codes thrown? What's the seat-of-your-pants dyno rate this? Louder?

No codes and very respectable numbers on the seat-of-my-pants dyno! I was really shocked to see that much of an improvement in acceleration. The SRI is quiet during normal driving but is pretty loud when I gun it. It does have a nice deep, throaty sound though. Also sounds great with the throttle body spacer (which I highly recommend).
