Had to put a battery charger on it due to a dead battery I'll create a separate post about this and get feedback from all of you.

spent a long time cleaning bird poop off my car, i guess it was pooped on and baked on the car for half a day under the sun and it took forever getting it out...somehow managed to rip a tiny bit of paint off along with the poo =[

But, I'll follow the directions and see how it goes. This is becoming a huge pan in the (removed) and I'm kind of sick of dealing with it, especially the prospect of having to figure out a way of hooking up a whole new satellite radio box and antenna...Asdhgfsdgf*&$*&^%!!!! After staring at these directions for a few days, I have come to the conclusion that once again, I have the wrong unit. I was sent a GMOS-LAN-01, which is compatible with my car but not with the factory amp (no RCA outputs) and I have a feeling if I try to use it, it will not activate my subwoofer, just like with the last one when we didn't use the RCAs. So it looks like I need the GMOS-LAN-02 which DOES have the RCA outputs. It is listed in their instructional PDF as compatible with my car (though we all know how reliable THAT is) and it's $89 as opposed to $119 like the GMOS-LAN-01. And at least this time I didn't try to use the unit! Time for another call back to Sonic Electronix... glad they are nice people over there, and this is the one Axxess told them to send so I blame Axxess/Metra. Having a car that was only around for approx 1 calendar year is pretty terrible in this regard... no one knows what they are talking about when it comes to this car. And nothing works the way it should.I swear, people.. this car didn't come with nav but it DID come with 7-speaker Monsoon system upgrades with an AMP!!!!!! Slightly annoyed.

I drove it today, used it like a pizza oven (as my leftover lunch sat in the boiling heat, just like an oven), and soon i'll be taking it to the dump. (no no, not the junkyard )

My BF's dad helped us change my brake pads (we got ceramic). I watched and learned, but I'm too shrimpy to be able to get the lug nuts off by myself The new pads are way, way quieter; I hope this lasts, I live in a dusty place filled with squeaky brakes.

Today I just finally wiped the epic amount of brake dust off the spokes of my front wheels. Hopefully now that I have new brakes and rotors the dust will be minimal.Yesterday was more exciting. Just got the car inspected (finally!) and had to replace the front brakes and rotors to pass (which made sense because they sounded and felt HORRIBLE). Replaced the rear brakes as well since they were at the state minimum. I'm still getting used to having quiet, smooth brakes...even when I first got the car the brakes weren't as smooth as they are now.The dealership mentioned replacing the rear drum (I didn't NEED to but it could be good to have a fresh one), replacing the front tires (which were getting pretty low on wear...believable as they just didn't seem to grip the road as well, especially when wet, but frustrating since I only had those tires for a YEAR/26,000 miles ago from the dealership from my last inspection) as well as doing the Power Steering and Transmission Flush. As everything would total $1100 (I almost burst out laughing at that price - no way I could pay all of that), I just went with the brake stuff and an oil change since I was relatively close to oil change time anyway. So hopefully the Vibe will be good for now...although i guess with it being over 50,000 miles since I bought the car two years ago , a transmission flush may be a good idea soon in addition to new tires.

I added an LED behind the seatbelt warning light which comes on with the interior lights, in anticipation for the new Vibe cover from Brandon. I used the tutorial for the overhead LED from blindman10, so thanks!

Futilely attempted to clear up the headlights with some BlueMagic headlight restoring stuff. It got some stuff off, but proved ineffective against the hard water stains. I'll be using http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=32206to clear them up. Thankfully I might never have to park by sprinklers ever again.

Took the vibe to the dump to unload some 'dump', then to the auto wrecker, and found the radio bezel i wanted, and snagged the cargo nets for the back while i was there. They also had the roof rack cross bars ($75) and side skirts (they wanted $100 per side, no thanks I could get after market for cheaper).

Put the new stereo in with the help of my BF's grandad. Looking forward to being able to plug my iPod in, I'm tired of having a limited selection of tunes.

Wiring harness adventures, take five million... the GMOS-LAN 02 harness works like a charm (though having intermittent issues with the 12V ignition wire not always sending proper signal so the thing just stays on when you turn off the car, which is wrong... think we've resolved that one). But the damn steering wheel control interface is going to be the death of me, I swear... we've figured out that the ASWC is identifying the headunit properly, but not detecting the pin/wires which are talking back to the car (this is from staring at the flashing lights and the direction booklet). And I am not trusting these instruction booklets at all anymore...The GMOS-LAN 02 came with an output that plugs directly into the ASWC and has the 3.5mm connector and everything... though the instructions didn't even mention it was there (weird)... looks like that output probably doesn't work with my car though, but the rest of it does. as;kjgafjgrg I really don't want to splice into any factory wires, this is why I pay for all this expensive crap.Sending back the two non-working harnesses tomorrow as well as returning the RCA/IP-BUS adapter...

Between yesterday and today, I replaced, the thermostat (Yesterday), Radiator and hoses, and the Serpentine belt. It was fun and pretty easy, but **** those hose clamps, i need to get some of those clamp tools.Either way it was a 100% success and my VIBE no longer overheats!!!

The red wires were hot and got accidentally grounded. GMOS-LAN 02 is fried. Sigh. System is returned to stock and awaiting another $90 in my bank account to buy a replacement

Geez Michele. Is it all going to be worth it in the end? Or is it just personal now?Frankly, I hardly ever listen to music in the car these days. I prefer to hear the car itself, my shift points, etc... and of course the other driver's around me that may not be paying attention.City traffic.....

Lol, it's part personal and part stubbornness... plus I really did love having that Bluetooth interface and USB-in while it was still working. We are obsessive car music listeners, we always have XM, CDs, MP3s in the car with us. But it probably won't happen for a while now, as money is tight for us and we can't afford another $90. Careless mistakes...

But for now, it's perfect.I used to be obsessive about music in the car too. FM, tapes (remember those?) But I think a turning point for me was when I spent about a year, and around $1100, a lot of money back then, collecting Alpine/Infinity components to put a system together, then spent much of my time driving trying to get the sound just right. Each input (change of station or tape) required different settings of the passive equalizer. It was nerve-racking, and dangerous, so I gave up after that experience. *edit* Oh, and the constant worry that someone would break into the car and do a ton of damage just to steal it. One place I worked, we had a used BMW on the lot. One night some moron broke into it and did $2500 worth of damage to the door, dashboard and console just to steal the $125 Radio Shack radio the previous owner had installed. It was actually almost as much as the car itself was worth, all for a cheapy stereo.

Replace front pads and rotors last night. Duralast Gold pads and slotted and drilled ebay rotors. Yes, I know some ppl despise them, but I've always liked them and never had issues with them. Plus they were only $3 more than buying the Duralast rotors from Autozone anyways. Man it was a PITA getting those rotors off after 151K miles though lol

I had a doctor's appointment this morning in the suburbs of Chicago. I drove for a good 30 minutes straight with the cruise control set at 55. I never once had to step on the brake or the gas. It was great, especially watching all the people pass me left and right, even semis, and all the idiots weaving in and out of traffic. It was also great to see all the morons slam on their brakes when they noticed the state trooper parked alongside the road! I am so glad I don't have to drive in that crap everyday .

DEBADGED! Here's your *proof* BlueCrush! Actually I did it yesterday in the 109 degree heat, took off two door badges, the hatch badge, and dealer sticker, which was a beast. I posted all the other pictures in my garage. Also I spent 4 hours washing by hand, detailing with clay bar and then waxing. Took my time and enjoyed every second of it! Noticed many little rock tings that I need to take care of when I get that thing on the nose taken care of... I love detailing cars, Hubby's deceptiford is next!

Spent a while buffing out the passenger side headlight. Drivers side was replaced with the accident repair a while back, and the passenger was getting really scratched up and foggy. Man was it hot yesterday. But got some good results. Maybe another couple treatments before the fireworks tomorrow

Maybe she can drive and you can give your Vibe a LONG well needed rest . Just don't let it rest TOO long or there goes your battery Somehow I don't think you'll have that problem

I installed my new Kenwood speakers today! Six new ones. All four corners plus tweeters. Unfortunately, my driver side tweeter cover broke. But hey, it is great to finally have sound coming out of the left side of the car!

Ok, so it wasn't today, but I used a headlight restoration kit from Sylvania on my headlights two days ago.I'm gonna just do links because the pictures are hugeBefore:http://i734.photobucket.com/al...1.jpgh ... ..0.jpgThe clear coat got on my paint though and I'm not sure how to get it off. The instructions said it wouldn't harm it but didn't say anything about what to do about it. The clear coat is also a little uneven in a couple of spots, and I don't know how to smooth it out.Next up: Need to fix paint and clean the upholstery; it's very splotchy due to its previous job as a rental vehicle.
