Rotor recommendations

Post by butternutaud »

We have a 2009 Vibe 1.8L 2WD that needs rear and probably front rotors/pads at 45000 miles. I've done a number of brake jobs in my life but frankly I'm not sure which rotors to buy. We want OEM quality but not expensive aftermarket high performance ones. I've purchased from Rock Auto before and have been happy. They offer quite a few choices and I'm not sure which ones. I bypassed the "Economy" ones and went to "Daily driver". They offer Centric (several models), ACDelco, Wagner, Raybestos, etc. Anybody have any suggestions, experience?

I've had good luck with Raybesto "Professional Grade" and "Advanced Technology" line of rotors. If the price difference isn't much, go for the "Advanced Tech". They have this nice glossy black paint/sealant on the parts that normally rust.Brembo blanks (Not the drilled ones) are supposed to be good too.

Thanks! One place I checked had the Raybestos Pro Grade for like $23 and the Advanced Tech for $56. So quite a bit of difference. I've had luck with Raybestos parts in the past so that may be the choice...
