Rode out to Dryden today. Was on the bike for like 4 hours. It felt like my face was going to fall off on the way home on 94 lol. It was SOOOOO fun though We found some nice curves west of Port Huron though lol.

To all those who ride,Glad to see you folks getting out there and riding again. I'm jealous since I would have normally been riding the past few weeks except that I'm recovering from a seriously broken arm. I was high-sided off a 2005 Yamaha R-6 at work on January 14th and now I get to stay home and go to therapy to rehabilitate my right arm. Hopefully I can get back to work and back in the saddle again around the end of April. My main reason for this message is to tell all you Genvibe motorcyclists to have fun and be safe. Wear your helmet and riding gear because you truly haven't a clue when you will desperately need it, and chances are extremely high that you eventually will. I sure didn't expect to crash while at work doing what I've done thousands of times before, but I did. Glad I had on the gear since the outcome would have surely been worse. My helmet looks a whole lot better with the resultant gash and rash than would have my head.Enough of that stuff. Keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down!PlatinumVibe08

I'm glad you are planning to ride again! That's what you gotta do, get right back on ASAP after you go down. I get disappointed when I hear stories of people who get into accidents and stop riding for good Hope all goes well for you.

Riding is like breathing, I've been at it for over 30 of my 42 years. I've made my living riding motorcycles for the last 20 years. While having a tremendous respect for the machine and continually striving to improve my skill level, I take pride in my riding ability and consider myself a professional motorcyclist. I appreciate your well wishes.Quote, originally posted by Merzbow »I get disappointed when I hear stories of people who get into accidents and stop riding for good While disappointing at some level, keep in mind that the decision for some to stop riding is the very thing that will probably save their life and perhaps the lives of others. Unfortunately, many riders involved in crashes are woefully unskilled and never made the commitment to become a responsible motorcyclist. I make every effort to assist my customers to become responsible riders because I'd like for them to enjoy the sport for a lifetime. Ride Safe,Greg Smith (PlatinumVibe08)

Riding an R6 is part of your duties at work? Sounds like a sweet gig!+1 on ATGATT. I hit a deer last summer in full gear. Every piece of safety gear I was wearing was destroyed, but did it's job and I rode a way. I had a few busted ribs, and some road rash, but it would have been much worse if I wasn't wearing all that gear. Glad to hear you only got a busted arm, PV08.

Thanks Jason,I manage a small independent motorcycle dealership. One of my many responsibilities is to test ride all the inventory before it is offered for sale. I would never allow a customer to ride one of our bikes until it gets my seal of approval and I know the bike is 100% what it should be. If you or any of you Genvibers find yourself passing through southern Illinois, you're welcome to stop in and say Hello.http://www.phillipsprocycle.com/Regarding the riding gear, it's certainly preferred to have it on and not need it rather than need it and not have it on. That said, I wear my gear for comfort reasons in addition to protection and frankly feel naked and vulnerable without it. ATGATT is but one of the many facets of being a responsible rider.Enjoy your motorcycle!Greg (PlatinumVibe08)

Stopped by my friends place (his families "toybox" really) and got to see his brothers latest ride... Sorry for the crappy cell pics.. My friend Jake started it up for me and I gotta say, I don't think i've ever herd a bike sound like that... Hard to see, but the pipe running up to the mufflers is about 2.25" Dia... it really sounded like a snowmobile with a clanky centrifical clutch??? It was SICK to say the least..

Man I would KILL to have that photo studio setup! Those 1098's are amazing and the Tricoloure is gorgeous. sooo much more money over the regular 1098 R and S though for a paint job and upgraded suspension lol. The clanky clutch noise is because they use a dry clutch. Mine is wet clutch so I can't enjoy the sound OR get any fancy open air clutch covers

Just thought I'd revive this thread once again after a nearly two year hiatus this time. Here a pic of one of my favorite bikes I've ever owned. It's a 2000 Honda GL1500T Valkyrie Tourer and I put 35.000 miles on it in the nearly five years I owned it from 2001 through 2006.
