Hey guys,My 03 Lava Vibe finally hit 100k miles today!! Service book just says oil and filter at 99,000 miles. Clearly not satisfied, I come to you all to help me figure out what maintenance to do. About 2 years ago (about 40k miles) I did the plugs (there's only 4.. sooo cheap)I was wondering what stuff I could do? I was thinking of replacing the coil packs, probably air filter (it's been awhile ), PCV valve... but I don't know what else!Brakes have been done and are still good.. but I don't know what else I should do. I wanted to do the fuel filter, but it seems they're non-existent (or in the tank, I guess). Trans fluid was done 20k ago, and coolant was done 30k ago.I want to give my Vibe some 100k love.. help me out!
-Cabin filter-Serpentine Belt-Make sure your suspension bits are still tight (struts, ball joint, tie rods, control arm, sway bar links)-Inspect the brake fluid and change it out if it looks dark/cloudy.Coil packs aren't part of regular maintenance and I believe they're around $100/each so just leave them if they're working ok.

Besides the things already mentioned by you and others:1) throttle body cleaning2) VVTi "oil filter"3) idle control valve (attached to throttle body, need to remove TB)4) O2 sensors? Often they lose their responsiveness a bit without throwing a code.5) power steering fluid6) brake fluid if it hasn't been changed when the brakes were done7) check and adjust rear brakes if necessary8) lube all the weatherstripping9) transmission fluid if what you did 20k ago was just a drain and fill (one drain and fill get about half the fluid). Three drain and fills if doing yourself, or take it to a Toyota dealer for a full flush. Add some lubeguard red bottle.
lol thanks guys.. after doing PCV valve (extreme cleaning), cleaning the MAF and temp sensor, replacing the air filter I'm seeing a bit of improvement for MPGs (getting closer to 30 now whereas I was abt 26-28 before).I've purchased 3 diff PCV valves and keep getting ones that don't fit.. I do not understand. Got 1 off the internet. Got 2 more from the store.. one had the right threading but was larger than the OEM one. I don't get how everywhere has the wrong code for the PCV valve..Looks like my serpentine belt is cracking, so I need to get around to doing that. Everything else seems tip top!
