Washer fluid lines

Post by kerber »

Hey everyone,We have a 2008 vibe we purchased used for the wife to drive. I noticed that both the front and rear washer fluid switches spray fluid on the front window, but neither spray the rear.Obviously, something isn't right here.I removed the liner to expose the fluid reservoir and pumps only to find that both pumps lead into the same fluid line. Now, I didn't want to tear the whole fender off at this point, so I thought I would come here.Do these pumps normally share a line that feeds both the front and the back, or should there be 2 separate lines?Does anyone have the part numbers for the 2 pumps, or a handy source?I am thinking that the owner before us half-assed a repair, but that's why I am here asking.Much appreciation for any guidance you can give!EDIT: I just wanted to add that I have searched and read tribalman's pump replacement guide, but it doesn't help out with this info.

There should be one line per pump. Have a look for the other hose, it may have been spliced further up.

If they are leading into the same line then it's not run correctly. The rear pump should be on it's own line that is only run on the rear pump.Check http://www.rockauto.com for parts. Autozone has them as well, they are standard pumps they are the same pump.

Excellent! Thank you for the information. Now, I just have to figure out where the rear line is cut off at. I don't suppose anyone knows where the rear line is run?
