'04 M&T - only tweeters on left channel

Hi, all, I have an '04 with totally stock M&T. I just discovered yesterday that all I'm getting out of the left side (front and rear) is high frequencies. No bottom end. Because it's both front and rear it's probably not the speakers. I'll look for loose connections first.Anyone else encounter this problem? Barring loose connections, where does the problem likely lie? HU? Amp?Thanks,Doug

Might be a good idea to pop the door panels off and take a look at the speakers. If the surrounds have rotted away, you could get the same problem you're having. I ran into that on a 2000 Silverado. Nothing but highs from the left front. When I pulled the panel off, I saw that the surround on the door speaker was totally gone. After the new speaker was in, everything was good. It's worth taking a look before you start chasing gremlins.
