does anyone know the name and/or part number to the metal plate in the picture below? it is on the underside of the tool stowage compartment and it keeps pressure on the lock.i am missing one and im having a hard time explaining it to the [friggin moronic] parts guy who is too lazy to get out of his seat and come take a look.this lock spins freely because there is no metal plate...it looks like they would be two different parts but im hoping one part number will lead to the other part's number.
I thought I'd be all clever and look that up for you, but in the process realized you've got an 09. So I don't have a part number for you, but on the 03-08s I believe that's called a "stiker" (#88970298 for the gen1 Vibes).Maybe try asking for Interior Trim - Front Deck Board Assy's Striker? edit: I think the same part for the 09 Vibe is 88974710
One of mine is bent from the prior collision (most of the car was reused. Even the headliner. You cane see where it bent.) I may have to see GM or Toyota and see what they can do for me.
ok, after some MAJOR help from Mr. Crab, i took the info he had given me and raced to my local Toyota dealership in hopes of getting the part for less than $27. they couldn't cross reference the part numbers but were pretty sure they found the right part. i will be picking it up tomorrow morning in hopes of it being correct. the price? $2.70! GM can take their 10x price and stuff it up their tailpipe!

I guess it's good than that I got a Vibe... It has an actual set of 'parents', and at least one sorta loves it. Or it can impersonate the preferred child (Matrix) and get some sugar from mum! EDIT: sig re-written, to better match this philosophy

I guess it makes sense though. It would be a huge relief for me if the "striker" part I found is indeed the part you needed. That was my best guess, my belief. But if the dealership knew what you needed, and was pretty sure they got the right part, I imagine you should be all good.Do let us know how it turns out, and the part name / Toyota part number for the collective benefit... and my relief.
well the part they gave me was the wrong part. turns out, the Matrix doesn't have the same hatch that the Vibes do. oh well. at least i have the part number now! GM isn't getting my money though...its gonna have to be a junkyard part.
