I know a lot of you like XM and have had good luck but they keep screwing me and my fiance. Last year I got the service for my fiance's birthday and we paid a years subscription. About 3mos down the road we got a bill. It ststed we never paid for the service and if we didnt pay it would be shut off. I couldnt find the conformation number so I ignored it. I got another bill. And another. The service stayed connected all this time. My fiance kept dealing with them and nothing got resolved. Finally we got a bill for $40 and the service was finally turned off. I didn't write the conformation number down like an idiot and just let it be. About 2 weeks ago I got a message in the mail stating I owe them or it is going to collections. We faught it but nothing worked. They tried getting us to resubscribe, and add it to the bill etc. Finally, my fiance says screw it. She paid it again. This was about a week ago. Today she got a call stating we didnt pay and needed to pay on our delinquent account. THis time she had the reference number to back us up and the file is finally closed. Ok I am finally done ranting. Good Luck to anyone who uses XM. It sucks too because we have no radio stations around us.
I feel for you bro and when traveling to the Jamestown/Olean area (my wife's hometown) we REALLY rely on the satellite radio to get us through the mountains. You're not alone at all on this one. In fact, there should be a law that removes such vendors from being able to report you, the honest consumer. over their shoddy business practices to any collection agency OR credit bureau! Just Google Consumers reports about XM and you'll get an earful & then some. Not ONE positive comment about them at all. It's downright disgusting what they are trained to do in order to make a sale. Here's what I've done and have had OK success with them so far. When you call them, first ask where they are located. When they say the Philippines ,or any other destination outside the Continental US, then politely ask them to transfer you to someone here in the US. They will reluctantly do it, even if it takes a few tries. Now that you have a representative here in the US, get their full name and the exact location where they are answering from. "John Smith, Atlanta Georgia" just as an example. Again they may not want to disclose this information BUT when you tell them you're ready to spend some $$$ then you end up having the upper hand. While they see you are a SMART shopper they easily become a "friend" of yours which makes it easier to conduct the transaction and less likely for them to pull any crap over on you. One other thing that I always tell them is the same thing that they tell all of us callers "this conversation WILL be recorded to protect us consumers", even though I've never done such acts yet! If paying by credit card, use one that is not a primary card so that if you need to cancel it due to them constantly charging you (AOL is good for this one also) then it will be easier to close the account. Always record & print out correspondence of every transaction. My Vibe folder is close to 1" thick on every possible deal that I've done pertaining to the car so that I more than cover my rear on who did what to whom ..... Good luck and try not sending them any more money Let us know how this story pans out
I've had my Sirius account for over 5 years now. I pay month to month. I've only called Sirius once, when I upgraded to a Sportster 5. The billing has been the same for the entire time and I won't change it for this very reason. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And now that the two have finally merged in Canada I'm not about to deal with them! On the plus side, when I did call them I talked to someone who actually spoke english without an accent! Always keep all paperwork when it involves credit of any kind!!!
Sucks to hear about your issues with XM . I've had the Mostly Music plan for quite some time now and have never had any issues. It is automatically taken off my debit card every three months. My mom also has the same plan and has had it for a while and has never had any issues.

THats where it all started. They started calling us trying to get us to resubscribe saying they could just re-bill the card already on file...
Sucks too.. They always give me a deal when I threaten to cancel on them. I've had XM radio since I got my car almost 2 years ago, only making two payments of 77.00. I have the XM Everything package.
