Replacing headlight bulb on passenger side of my 07' Vibe and removed the retaining clip. I didn't use much pressure at all, the unit hinged out a bit and came out easily. I then went to reinstall the headlight bulb and there was a broken small piece of plastic that the metal wire retaining clip used to rest on. Now I cannot get this clip reinstalled. I am about ready to put a little adhesive on the body of the bulb so it doesn't move around now that the clip cannot do its job. Any ideas about how to fix this short of purchasing an entire headlight assembly for 125 bucks? Would a little adhesive and the tightness of the rubber retaining ring enough to hold the bulb from bouncing around while driving. I cannot locate any of the guts of a headlight assembly at Rock Auto, et al. Thanks!
Thanks for the tip. What a really crappy design. Cannot figure out why they didn't go with a plastic threaded screw in, screw out assembly. The bulb surprisingly holds pretty well with just the rubber boot over it, so I'll try some JB or some RTV and go from there.
