TPMS for 2007

Post by rhino1 »

I have a 2007 model. I'm about to replace the tires. Does the installer need to do anything special with regard to the TPMS (valves, resets, etc.)? I've heard that on the 2007, it is an indirect system which relies on the ABS (and there's no sensor in the valve). Is that correct? But on the Matrix, my understanding that in 2007, the TPMS was part of the valve assembly. So i'm confused. Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to GenVibe!!! Your tire guy shouldn't have to do anything to the system.

it's a gray area... best bet is go look at your wheels, are they hard metal stems? or black rubber?metal='s sensor in rimrubber='s on the hub/abs system
