Hi all,I've noticed some grinding noise from the driver's front brake on my 2008 base vibe. It's not all the time, and it alternates between low pitched grinding and a higher pitched squealing.I've only put 55k miles on it, and from what I read here, people's brakes are lasting them 150k+ miles.I popped the front wheels off to look at the pads, and I'm not sure, but it looks like I might need to replace them.http://imgur.com/a/WWnz7Only the driver's front has that weird wear pattern on the rotor. The passenger front has a much cleaner rotor and more material left on the pad.What, if anything, should I replace and what should I replace them with?

Be sure to clean up and re grease the slide pins. Could be sticking to make the pad wear faster. When you take it apart you should be able to tell if they are stuck...
I just got my originals replaced after 70K miles. They were shot. I NEVER got the high pitched squeal like you're suppose to get, I just got grinding, sometimes bad, sometimes not.
replaced them with generic rotors and ceramic pads from o'reilly. nothing too fancy. came in at 115 for the whole thing. not too bad.

I can see the tab that is supposed to warn me but it must be for the hearing impaired.

I think those are heat marks, from overheating the rotors.. maybe you drive more spirited than most of us. or that caliper is seizing... or right side needs to be bleed. one caliper might be doing most of the work and so its over heating.. either way, u need new rotors and pads, plus bleed the entire system, and clean or re grease the guide pins. make sure the boots are not cracked.i too would recommend ceramic pads, and rotors of quality. got EBC last time and its lasting well without warping for 2 years now. Ill personally get brembo plain or R1concept rotors for my next change.
