Glad I found this place. Just drove my 2010 off the lot this evening. It's a dark blue base model with the 2.4L engine. No pics just yet.I'm sure I'll have more interesting questions later, but for now I'll stick with some softball stuff. What does the forum suggest I mess with first? I'm a big time modder and tweaker, when my wife lets me have money to play with. I think my first thing, aside from getting some rubber floor mats, will be to hunt down a roof rack. Any good suggestions on where to start? My first inclination is to try the junk yards for a set of factory rails, but I don't know how good (or not) they are. Would this be a viable plan or should I go with something better from Thule?

Welcome. I like the CAI. It gives the Vibe a new sound and just seems like a fun mod.

Welcome to GenVibe!I'd go for the 'Flux Capacitor' upgrade With rising gas prices, you'd quickly recover the cost of the mod after you recycled a case or two of beer cans. And you can probably get all the plutonium you need from Japan...

Welcome As far as roof racks in junk yards for the 09-10 Vibes I'd say there are NONE anywhere just yet. There were very few if any on the 09 models whereas the short production run of '10's had many more. Post pics soon and welcome to this great site

Welcome to the site!I would like to suggest sound dampening as a mod. Unfortunately, our cars are not the quietest.

Welcome to GenVibe!!! I'd suggest the K&N SRI and a nice set of rims/rubber... especially if the stock goodyears are still on there!Stock roofracks might be had on ebay or here but you may have to fork over a couple of bucks at the dealer for them. But there should be a few choices in the aftermarket!Post pics when you can!

It changes the exterior look pretty drastically and will keep the interior cooler during the upcoming summer months. For some "cheap & easy" modifications, check this out.

Thanks for the warm welcome! A few more for now:Do the '08 All Weather mats fit in the '09' & '10 model years? I like the rubber mats with the branding on them but it looks like they weren't available after '08.Also, is there a Haynes guide or equivalent for the '09 & '10? Haynes has a book available for 1st gen Vibes but I didn't see anything for the more recent years.

Nope, the mats won't interchange from 1st gen to 2nd gen.My vote on best mod is for lowering springs. Nothing in my mind alters the appearance of a car more than that. Relatively cheap as well. While I want an SRI, you only get the sound while running, but lowering springs change the appearance of the stock vehicle 24/7.Oh! And welcome to GenVibe!

There was only one type of rubber floor mat that GM made for the 2009 - 2010, but they have since been discontinued. In case you want to search for them online though, the part number is #19170829. I may have two sets of them up for sale soon. There is no Hayne's or equivalent. If you're willing to shell out the money though, there is the GM Service Manual.Quote, originally posted by Kincaid »lowering springs change the appearance of the stock vehicleThey're also going to change the way the car rides, which some people may not want/like .

Thanks! If I do sell the floor mats, it wouldn't be for a while yet, as I'm considering getting the WeatherTech floor liners which are pretty pricey and I would need the GM ones until I actually got the new floor liners. I will definitely let you know if and when I decide to sell them though .The GM manual is well worth the money though. It's very comprehensive. It's three seperate books that together weigh about 15 lbs!
