annoyed by emissions...

Post by bassplayaz06 »

ok, i'm getting annoyed by this. i'm getting around 23 mpg cause my O2 sensors are being retarded. i cant do anything with it til i can get it into the school shop after school and run diagnostics on it. i've had to put gas in 3 times in the past week. only about 130 miles per 6 gallons.

P0420 code. catalytic inefficiency. the sensors are messed up.

P0420 does not necessarily mean that it's the o2 sensors. It could be the MAF or the intake manifold gasket. I had the same issue a little while back. Changed the intake manifold gasket and the MAF and it cleared up.Does it drive okay still other than the gas mileage?

Most likely it isn't the MAF if it still drives ok.
