I got into a little fender bender with my Vibe. Well after getting it back from the shop I'm pretty happy with the results. F.Y.I aside from the obvious of paying attention to the road, keep your collision coverage on your car, even if it's more than 5 years old and paid off. This damage cost me $1800.00 cause I dropped my collision coverage to save money on my insurance premium.. Also, if anyone experiences this kind of body damage, make sure you check to make sure it's all put together properly before leaving the body shop.. I had to go back because once I got home and took a closer look, the guys at the body shop left out a bunch of the fasteners that hold the bumper in place.. Some of these plastic fasteners can cost 8 bucks each at the dealer. Luckily when I went back to the shop they still had the fasteners there. Below was the damage($1600.00) to the other car.. As you can see my car got the worst damage from the hit
So I take it you NOW have collision coverage again on the Vibe, or will you "chance" it again? I would think even a real high deductible (say $1000 or so) shouldn't cost that much. The repair looks good though
I had an accident a few years back and my Vibe looked much like yours and I had the same issue with body shop... the body panels didn't line up, clips were missing, part of my wheel well actually fell out. *Doh*

There was also alot of hidden damage behind the fender that was gonna have to be repaired... After they replaced the fender liner, they forgot to re-attach the plastic wind deflector that is under the car by the wheel well. At first I was just gonna buy the missing parts from the dealer to avoid having to go back to the body shop. But after they told me how much all those plastic fasteners and missing wind deflector would cost I just went back to the body and made them replace all the missing pieces.. They wanted to use generic fasteners but I made them find all of the OEM fasteners, Luckily they hadn't thrown out the other parts and they took off the missing deflector off of the old fender liner to put on the new one ... Needless to say they weren't too happy with me...lol I did end up having to pay 8 bucks for the plastic grommet that holds the hood prop in the fender cause they broke the other grommet when they took the prop out of the damaged fender to reattach on the new fender.. They also forgot to reattach the thermometer sensor. It was just dangling behind the bumper near where the horn is. I just used a zip tie to reattach that cause when they removed it off the bumper ,or where ever it's attached to, they broke the plastic piece on the sensor that is used to attach it. I'm still lucky cause if the impact would have been a few more inches towards the center the damage would have been much worse.. This is the best car I've ever owned so I'm glad It all worked out

So I didn't make a huge issue about the missing clips.. Plus, after getting some quotes as high as $3,000.00 I thought $1,800.00 was a bargain and they got the work done in three days. And the owner of the shop was nice enough to give me a ride home after I dropped the car off to get fixed.. Mistakes happen... I'd probably go to the same body shop again if I needed to get more body work done again. After seeing how nice the paint was on the fender I thought about getting the whole car painted again to match the fender . Being an 04 the Florida sun has really faded the original paint.. Before the accident I was researching headlight lens restoration kits cause my lens's where really cloudy and oxidized. It's amazing the difference new headlight lens's make on a car. Since they where gonna take off the bumper, I went ahead and told them to replace the left lens as well so they would match.
