Rear Seat Removal

Post by Wolfman213 »

How do I remove the rear seats? I've got somethings I'm wanting to do to them and would like to get them out of the Vibe and into the basement. I have no problem just jumping into it and figuring it out on my own, but I know that they are some members that have removed them completed before so figured I'd just go ahead and ask. Thanks in advance!

That is exactly what I did when I put in the Fatmat. I just started locating and pulling bolts until I felt that they were all out. I was easy getting the seat out, it was a ***** to get it back in due to the bulk, weight and trying to align everything by myself. I will be easier if you remove everything from the cargo area, lids, trays, etc so you can get a the bolts from the rear. Teh front seats were a breeze compared to the rear (for me). Take pics, if you can, of the process and document it if you have time. Good luck!

first slide front seats as far foward as they can goremove headrests on rear seatsnext fold down rear seats towards bottom on each side of seat plastic rear cover there is a small plastic cover thats part of the larger overall cover (square or rectangle in size) you have to remove the smaller covers to gain access to the bolts to remove the top sections of the seats, remove by prying with screwdriver carefully, remove bolts once you get the top portions of the seats removed you should be able to easily see what else needs to be done for the seats to be removed, dont forget to keep track of all you remove and where it goesJust did leather seat install on my vibe so I can pretty much answer any questions you may have.

Thanks for the replies guys. If I run into any issues, I'll be contacting you Wave. I forgot about those little pieces on the back of the seats giving access to bolts. I'll try and take pics and document the process for a small little write up.

Wave hit it all but I will add that when I removed mine I put all the bolts back in the hole they were in so I didn't lose any.
Vibe is gone and will be missed as I've gone country style
