if you hold down the MODE button on the steering wheel the radio will turn off. Press it again & it turns on. ('09 GT) Wonder what else I'm missing?

don't feel bad-there's tons of stuff to discover.it took me over a year to notice that there's a handle on the inside of the tailgate that allows you to close it without touching the paint. now i use it pretty much every day...

That's funny . My mom never knew you could turn it off by holding it down either until she was in mine one day and saw me do it .I just figured out that the thingy on the bottom of the rear view mirror is used to "dim" the mirror. I thought it was a little microphone for OnStar or something ! Makes driving at night much better now ! LOL!I also just figured out that if you hold down either one of the arrow buttons (on the steering wheel) while listening to XM it will scroll through all the channels rather then just the ones you have saved in your list(s) .Quote, originally posted by Zimm »don't feel bad-there's tons of stuff to discover.it took me over a year to notice that there's a handle on the inside of the tailgate that allows you to close it without touching the paint. now i use it pretty much every day...LOL! Did you know there is this lever under the front seats that allows you to move the seat backward and forward?

And I didn't know about the Mode thing either. But you really didn't know about the "flipping" mirror dinner tab? I thought that was standard on all modern cars (except the fancy ones with electronic dimming or whatever).I only read as far into manuals as I need to do whatever it is I am looking for (program radio, identify fuses, etc). I've read a few sections in their entirety, but some I skip until I need them.

They will act as seek buttons for AM & FM when held down too.

I've read a few sections in their entirety, but some I skip until I need them.Yep. I just found out about holding the arrow buttons down a few weeks ago while sitting in my car at work on my lunch break. I discovered it purely by accident. I was like, "I wonder if anything would happen if I hold down the arrow button instead of just pressing it..." I always thought it was kind of weird that the mirror didn't seem (to me) to have a dimmer thingy, but I never thought too much about it until I saw a commercial for a Chevy Cruze and the guy dimmed the mirror and I noticed the mirror in the Cruze had the same little thingy as the mirror in the Vibe, so I tried it and sure enough... it dimmed the mirror !I pretty much only read the manual on a need-to-know basis, unless I'm sitting in the Vibe and I'm bored, then I'll pull it out and just start reading .Quote, originally posted by Bikerscum »They will act as seek buttons for AM & FM when held down too.AM? FM? What are these things you speak of ?99.9% of the time I listen to XM. If I'm not listening to XM, I'm listening to a CD, but good to know nonetheless .

I found this out shortly after buying the Vibe. After I discovered that.. I pushed and held every button on the steering wheel to see what it would do..

Got a lifetime sub 5 or 6 years ago, now it's free for life & paid for itself. Get free online listening too. XM sends me cheap offers all the time, I throw them away. Hard to believe they're the same companyI get Howard Stern, you get Oprah. Winning.

I don't listen to sports or talk radio, etc. so there's no reason for me to have anything besides the Mostly Music package. And it's only $9.99 a month which isn't bad at all IMO.
