Today after I start the car for about 5 seconds there is a grinding noise coming from the engine bay. The sound is present then just suddenly stops. The noise does sound like it is coming from the back of the motor towards the fire wall. I checked the upper bearings with a stethoscope and nothing unusual. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I need to put the car on ramps to check to see if the noise is coming from the starter or not. I put it on ramps and continued to diagnose the issue. Fortunately it started to do it all the time so it is not the starter but the A/C compressor clutch. So for now I will be driving with the A/C on until I get the part.
If God didn’t want us to eat meat, why did he make the cow so slow? (Ever eaten a cheetah-burger? Nope. And you never will.)
damn it I found the part, bought the tools and now it is not making any noise. My buddy who is a GM tech said sometimes rock or road salt will get in make noise for a couple days then get ground out so no more noise. I will still take the parts but I will not worry unless it starts up again.
