VSC Off; Engine light; Stabili-trak

Post by space_monkey »

Currently, my 2009 Vibe GT will have the VSC Off, Check Engine and Stabili-trak lights go on the dash, usually when it has been driven in wet conditions. I have read some other posts regarding this, but see no definite resolutions. Periodically, I will take off the negative battery cable to reset the codes, but it always comes on again. Any ideas? Is this the speed sensor fouling? Also, I have the issue with the center caps coming off that I have read about here, as well. I will be contacting the dealer to order the redesigned ones soon.

Welcome Another 09 GT owner! This sounds like a first for the Vibe, at least on this forum, BUT on my wife's G8 GT we had an identical problem. It ended up being a combination of a bad wheel sensor AND more importantly the wiring harness from the main computer to the wheel sensor harness was not fully seated and when they inspected it they found water in the connector. It was cleaned and reattached TIGHTLY and here it is 6 months & then some and the problem has not reappeared. It is possible you have a similar problem as this.Post pics and results to your problems so that all of us fellow GenVibers can benefit from it. Again ... Welcome

Welcome I was just going to say, it sounds like a bad connection issue on a lot of 09's... A few people are already complaining about similar problems..

Well it's been awhile and all I've decided to do is just keep a diagnostic tool in the car and clear the code when it comes up. It happens so inconsistently that I don't see any reason to do anything further until GM foots the bill. The center caps are still an issue and hard as hell to find. They cost around $20/each from the dealer...ridiculous!
