Slightly bent wheel (pot hole attack)-now what???

Post by Blanco_Diablo »

So, due a massive pot hole in the parking lot at work I am now down to three wheels. Going to see if anything can be done to save it, but feeling a bit pessimistic about it due to a past curb incident with my spare wheel. These wheels seem so fragile for 17". I'm a bit angry right now, especially since my wheels have been discontinued. If anyone knows where I can find one or two Tenzo-R Passion 5 wheels, ideally black with polished lip, 17"x7, 5x100 bolt pattern for the Conspiracy Vibe... please let me know. Thanks for any insight you folks can provide.I will post pics soon.EDIT:Here's one...EDIT:Another...

Not crazy fast, it was an outer ring where you drive around to the next section of spots so 15mph... our work buildings cover 2 square miles. It was disguised as a puddle, among many others... didn't even see it coming.Turns out the freaking hole was 8/9 inches deep with a sharp asphalt lip on it.The kicker is work security had reported it to maintenance two weeks ago. They could have at least put a cone out there. I reported it at 1pm and they had it filled in by 5pm. Go figure.

No e-mails from them today but may have a vm waiting for me when I get in tomorrow. Luckily my spare rim was useable as it's damage was very minor from a past curb mis-judgement. Since it was almost time for new tires I just went ahead and got a full set. Still looking to get another wheel so I have a spare though. If any of you know where to find discontinued tenzo wheels let me know.

It doesnt look that bad someone should be able to try fixing it. It shouldnt be too bad to beat it back out. Only issue is the material may crack when trying to straighten it.

Yeah, that's the problem is the brittle material it's made from. Ended up scrapping it because the wheel wouldn't seal properly. Really glad the spare wasn't as bad as I thought it was.

I'd definitely look into wheel repair because they don't look that bad - not as bad as some of the before pictures that wheel repair places show.

Well that stinks. Hate it when I'm tired and stressed because I tend to make dumb decisions. Told the wheel place they could scrap it since everyone (at the tire shop) was saying it couldn't be repaired Oh well, trying to find a used one to salvage now.
