Stereo Problem

Post by Mr Magoo »

Posted this in the Audio, Electronics, Electrical section, but thought maybe I should have posted it here instead. I have a problem with the speakers on the left side of the car, front and back. I basically have a very weak signal. If I press my ear to the front left I can hear a little sound. I'm not sure anything is coming from the back. Original stereo had this issue and now the new one does too. Any ideas?

Do you have Moon and Tunes package? Just wondering if it might have something to do with an amp.

My vote goes for the M&T amp, if equipped. Had problems with one of those too, right channel no workie... Tweeter did though! *shrug*

No M&T. Just a base model system.

Does changing the Left and Right balance make any difference? If not I'd suspect loose wiring eitiher on the speaker end.

No difference changing the balance. Sound is barely audible in left side. I thought about them possibly being blown. Is there a way to test if they are blown?

if the other side is working "properly" just plug in the speakers with those cables and see what happens.
