Depends. If it's a placard, try using dental floss behind it to break the seal. Then use goo gone on the resiude to get the rest of it off.If it's a viny decal, should come off with a hairdryer and some good 'ol fingernal picking. Then rub with some goo gone to get any sticker residue off.

The Goo Gone is a good idea but I have had alot of problems with it. Look for a sticker remover called UN-DO. It works really well and does not hurt the paint. Goo Gone will work though if you can't find the UN-DO.

Goo gone goes by many names. Un-Do, Goof Off, etc. It's basically an adhesive remover. They're all the same as far as I can tell...It removes the adhesive residue left behind by the stickers...you may not need it at all. I'm just saying if stuff is left over, try it. It shouldn't hurt the paint as long as you wash it all away as soon as it does it's job.As to soap and water, never took off adhesive before, but sure can't hurt to try, that's for sure...

yea you can jut scrub the adhesive stuff off with soap and water, peferrably using one of the "net-like" sponges, the sponges that look like they are wrapped with a white net. Works perfect

One way would be to take the car back to the dealer and say"You didn't pay me to advertise for your dealership, now take the damn ad off my car"Before you try goo gone, read http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=5231 Other people (including myself) have used GooGone to remove the sticky residue left from taking badges and stickers off their Vibes, but after CaCathy13's problem, it's something you want to be sure about before you use it or any other solvent.

Got a thin smooth piece of strong plastic? Thats what we use here to take off other dealership logos off the cars that are traded in here so we can put our own ads on heh.

Quote, originally posted by ebslopp »you could even plug the hair dryer into the outlet in the dash! lolDoubtful. Most hair dryers are 1000+ watts. Even the least powerful one surely exceeds the 100 W load limit of the inverter.Sucks.

I don't know what goo goo gone is, but I've always used WD-40 to get glue residue off. Just spray it on and let it soak for a few seconds. It usually breaks down the glue so that it comes off pretty easy.

On a related note, I read once that it'e easier to TWIST the badges off, rather than PRY them. Something about the type of adhesive used, it resists PULLING, but not twisting. Got any chemical engineers out there who can explain it?
