XM radio

Post by dzknmd1 »

I just received notice that my XM subscription is up for renewal. I have not dealt with this in a couple of years and can't remember how much I paid the last time, only that it seemed to go up quite a bit from the time before. I have not checked yet to see how much they want this time. Thought I would check with the Vibe community to see what everyone else is paying for XM service these days.

Sorry, I posted this without checking - there is already a new thread running on this topic.

Whatever you do, make sure you call to let them know you want to cancel. I just canceled mine (portable unit) and they offered me ridiculous prices! So don't just call to renew, "try to cancel" first!

That's exactly what I did. I got the $77.00 deal which turned out to be $88.00 with taxes and fees. Still half of what they wanted. I guess this is an annual tap dance you have to go through with them to get a reasonable price. I would never pay $154.00 for a year of XM. For a long haul trucker it might be worth it but we don't spend that much time in the car.

the advantage I had was it was a portable unit. So I would have it in the car, in the office and at home when needed. Also, it could broadcast to a lot of cars around me lol. So $14 was worth it... but now I got an awesome streaming system of my music so its just not needed.
