I'm not sure I completely understand the answer you are looking for, but taken at face value, yes I have a few stories of being treated badly as a patient, and the husband of a patient.One only has to look as far as the drug commercials on TV to see the problems in our medical professionalism.Ads that spend 15 secs explaining what this new wonder drug can do for your symptoms and the going on to tell you how it can mame or kill you in the process.When my wife was in the hospital for her tree/ladder accident I visited her 4 times over the 5 days she was there and spoke to approximately 6 representatives during those times. Three of them didn't even seem to realize that they worked at a hospital and what that required of them.One suggested that my wife's splintered collar bone would fix itself with time. I had to convince them using their own x ray that if it eventually did come back together that it would be sticking out through the skin and causing her even more problems down the road. They operated on it, achieving an open reduction of the bone the very next morning. During her stay, she was asked to pee into a container so they could track her output, yet according to her, no one ever came to look at or document the levels.For this, and not including the first e-room doctor, transportation or e-room time, drugs, x-ray, or the surgery, the hospital billed us $60,000 for a 5 day stay. If that isn't broken I don't know what is.

Some years ago they forgot the lead lap apron and my next son was born with three eyes. Not sure that was the cause - just sayin'. But he can see in 4-D not just 3-D. The glasses are hard to find however.

Is there any danger if it is not used? i'm a dental hygiene student currently taking my radiography class.unless your dentist shot about 100 films with no apron, i wouldn't give it much thought. taking a cross country airplane flight is about the equivalent of 1 set of full mouth x-rays (18 films.) living at an altitude like say denver is going to give you the equivalent of a full mouth set every 3 months.now, if the tube head was pointed directly at your thyroid gland or gonads for a bunch of shots, that might be another story...also, if you are immunosuppressed or currently undergoing radiation treatment and they knew about it, this is a problem.if they forgot one time, no big deal. but i would bring it to their attention and not let it happen again. everyone makes mistakes, but i'd be dammed if i'd let them make the mistake twice.

Actually it wasn't a dentist; I was just using the dentist reference so they would know what lead thing I meant. Will P.M. you though...
