I joined just after I got my Vibe. However, I lurked around the boards for a while before hand. I was trying to decide between the Vibe and the Saturn Ion. To be honest, the Ion had me for a while, but in the end I decided on the Vibe. Never one moment of regret since.
I don't like the center cluster on the Ion.But they did a great job with the Ion and L series in terms of design. If I had to get a second car, I'd definitly look at an L-series...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
Lurked on and off for a few months before I registered... I think I finally got the Vibe within the Month of registering.. This site was VERY helpful... Next to a Vibe Test Drive this site was very instrumental in me choosing the Vibe

My dealer let me keep my Vibe overnight before I officially bought it. I found Genvibe that night and joined the next night after the purchase was final.I must say - checking out this site made much more comfortable with my purchase.

I was a stealth owner before I joined. It's interesting to search the member list, sorting for users by signup date. A lot of the founding vibers haven't been heard from in a long time.
I joined up a couple months before I made the actual purchase. I poured through all the old threads, soaking up all the info I could. I even found my dealer on this site!Finding this site was a terrific way to learn about the Vibe.

I joined after. I pretty much knew I wanted a Vibe because I liked the design and the price. I didn't discover genvibe.com until after I already purchased the car. quote:To be honest, the Ion had me for a while, but in the end I decided on the Vibe.If you would have gotten the Ion, would you have gotten a Sedan or a Coupe? Would you have gotten the side curtain airbag? Just curious.

To be honest, the Ion had me for a while, but in the end I decided on the Vibe. Never one moment of regret since.Ditto, same here. The Ion lost out to the Vibe for me for 2 reasons:1) I thought the Vibe is much sportier looking 2) The horrible back seat in the Ion. The backseat is so thinly padded and so vertical (almost no backwards angle) my back hurt after only a 10 minute test ride. I just coudn't imagine ever having anyone ride in the backseat for a trip anywhere, they would never walk right again.

I was actually lurking on the site before I got my Vibe. I ordered mine and it took over two months, so I needed something to do while I waited. Then when I finally got my Vibe, I wanted to post something, so I became a member about a week after I got it.

I found genvibe through edmunds.com, while doing research before buying. I was reviewing some of the postings there and one user posted genvibe. I must say, that help me from buying the vibe. And I've been very happy with the Vibe.I guess you can say I'm a lurker too, then bought the vibe, then joined the forum.
In a 48 hour period of time. I went car shopping on a wednesday looking for something that would equal or better a Focus station wagon. Yeah as much as I like the focus styling and find it fun to drive the SE still looks like a den mother vehicle. Also the fact that the focus is indeed a ford was a big negative (bad luck in the past). At my first stop; a toyota dealership, I discovered the Matrix. Exactly what I was looking for, sporty yet utilitarian. Unfortunately no buyer incentives and salesman was in no hurry to discount. Next Mazda protege': nice car, right price, not enough storage room and just not me. Honda: looked at an element, funky, overpriced and still not for me. Civic, what's there to say? overpriced rice burner that the best thing the salesman can say about it is its high re-sale value, hence no incentives. I skipped the VW dealership because I've grown tired of it's gen-x, yuppy advertising not to mention that their styling is just blah to me now. This is coming from a VW enthusist. Finally the Pontiac dealer. Never have been a big fan of Pontiac or any American car manufacturer. I remembered the Vibe advertising from awhile back (though I haven't seen a commercial for one in a long time) and headed straight for them. I dig it. Salesman tells me that I could get up to $3000 off...much better. Took a GT for a test drive, cool, handles almost as well as a focus. Went home did some research online finding this site and edmunds to be extremely helpful. Got an email quote from another dealer... A day later I own one. I left out the mundane dealer issues such as the lying and backstabbing. In the end I got want I wanted and saved over $4000 off the sticker of a 2004 model.
