Jack handle and lug wrench missing? Oops..found it!!

Post by csxt8058 »

Got to pokin' around in the back of my Vibe and decided to check out the little storage areas, never really checked them out before now, and I was looking to make sure the jack, lug wrench and donut were as they should be and noticed....the jack handle and lug wrench are missing!! At first I thought I was looking in the wrong spot, then I saw the little diagram showing where they 'should' be...not there! This is wierd, I bought the car new, so it's not like someone had it before me and took it, and my car has never been broken into, and...I've never had to use the jack yet. Thank goodness I haven't had a flat in the 18 months I've had the car, out in the boondocks with no handle to jack the car or take the lug nuts off.Has anyone else with a 2010 Vibe checked to see if all the flat tire apparatus is there? Looks like a call to the dealer is in order on Monday. JR

With a my 09 yes. I'm missing both of the same things you are. I just noticed not to long ago; I have the jack and the spare tire. That's all. I've been meaning to get around to checkin the price at the dealers. Mine was a previous rental, so I guess someone took it.

I've noticed at car shows that they typically remove those for the cars on display. Maybe that's another possibility. Then you could say you bought a "show car".Not entirely likely - but just a guess. If it was , it would have been neat to have a photo of it there.Hopefully you can get some help from a dealer - if yours is still around.John

On right side of compartment where tie downs are stored and directions are on the wall, lift up black felt floor to reveal the jack handle/lug wrench.

Well, don't I just feel like a horse's rear end. I can't believe I never even thought that something might be under that. I just went down and looked again...sure enough, saw the little finger hole in it, lifted it up, bang...handle and lug wrench. Thanks for that little tid bit. I'm going to back into a corner now and hang my embarassed head. JR

Do not feel bad, took me a while to find it when I went looking for it. My big problem is trying to attach a pic of that compartment. Good thing you found it, now I do not have to figure this posting pics out right now.

In case you still haven't figured it out, here's a great explination from NascarXprt:Quote, originally posted by NascarXprt »the best thing to do with pictures is to create an account at a photo hosting site like photobucket or Imageshack. and from there you can upload your photos to those sites. after you've uploaded your pics there, there are some lines of code under each photo, from which you can copy and paste to any site. Here at GV and Matrixowners, the code to use to show your photo is called the [ IMG ] [ /IMG ] tags (without the spaces in the brackets). so you would put your direct link to your .jpg im inbetween the [IMG] tags. For example a photo named Mycar.jpg would go like [ img ] Mycar. jpg[ /img ] and then it would show as a photo in the board.
