Nothing like Oklahoma or Chicago here in Columbus. We got sleet and freezing rain mostly. A few small "twigs" down but the temperature in the wee hours must have been above freezing as all the ice coating the power lines and trees was gone by the time I got up this morning. Some ice patches on the side roads still. I get freaked out when we get the ice storm warning as several years ago much of this area lost power for up to 10 days. Now getting some light snow.

South and east of us got Ice but havn't heard how bad yet. 2 years ago we had a Ice storm and the power was out for 10 days. But the good thing we could drive around (with chains) and get what we needed. 20" of this stuff and we are STUCK!

Pretty cold for this part of the world. Add to that some serious nor-easters blowing in and it was more than a little chilly here. But having grown up in and spent the first 38 yrs of my life in eastern Pa and having lived through a few winters of blizzards (2' in 2hrs,) -0* temps w/wind, and snow, and/or ice, I love watching and listening to the native Texans talk about "how bad" this weather is. I'm not as "used" to it as I once was. 15* F still feels quite cold to me now, especially when high winds are involved, but if they think this is bad, they ain't seen nothin' yet.We actually had a few snow flurries today. I was the first in my little circle to spot them today, but they were so light as hard to see!! almost completely invisible, yet all the natives around me were mesmerized!! As in, "WOW!!! Look at the snoooowwwwww...." This is not the first time since I've been here I've seen these kinds of flurries, nearly 16 yrs now, but I just had to laugh. *edit* That is a great shot, or computer gen rendition of the storm clouds, epcIII. You can see where the tail of it was over my area.
