HID's

Post by MotoAce51 »

SO I install HID's in everything I have but this is the first time I have had the HI/LO setup. Since this is a single bulb what do you think is best, Bi-Xenon, or the HI-Lo xenon with the extra halogen bulb?

Yup, Bi-Xenon HID's or have Keithvibe retrofit a set of HID projectors for you. He did mine and I love them more than the Bi-Xenon HID's I had previous.

I figured going with the actual BiXenon was the best bet but I didnt know how the Hi-Lo would work. They used to be a dummy bulb for inspections but I heard they sometimes work better. I need to look into that Projector retrofit. DO you have any pictures?

The bi-xenon HIDs work two different ways. One way the bulb will actually tilt, the other the bulb will move in or out depending on the position of the light stalk. The movement allows the light to reflect off the different focus sections of the light bucket. The problem with HIDs in reflector buckets is the large amount of glare that is created for on comming traffic. The ideal set up is to do a projector retrofit as BC has pointed out, reguardless if you take advantage of my services or not.

Thats true, In my Lumina the HID's didnt reflect too bad, but My girls PT is rediculous. I was thinking of trying to do a set of retro's myself, but yours aren't too bad priced. Its just hard being an engineer and not trying at least.

If you feel comfortable putting your headlights in your kitchen oven go for it.The headlights must be opened up to do a projector install

I rent, so it wouldnt be the worst thing I have put in the oven. A couple years ago I was doing some CF projects for the MX and sportbikes and I would bake them if I needed to. It all depends on if I get some finances or bordom first.
