$40 short ram intake

Post by bassplayaz06 »

well, got some money. this isn't how i thought it was gonna turn out, but it works. got a Spectre cone filter and a 45 degree angle tube. attached it into the stock air box. put that upside down and hooked everything up. it all works great. except the hole in the radiator i found after the test drive.

It's a good use of resources and if it works for you, then great, but I think you would have been better off with one of these:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...oriesh ... rs...ories

Well that is good! Yes GRADES come first! But you should have done a poor man's CAI. But that is very inventive!

Debit card + the right job can do wonders! I got paid a pretty sum last week, and it's being funneled to the car. I'm also maintaining good grades. It's all about the right job, I guess. Good budget intake though! As for those ebay links, I hardly trust non-brand name things, especially on ebay.

I'm thinking that you're in the boat of "your car" but your parents actually spent the money and bought it, or it was their old car, am I correct? If that's the case, you're better off leaving it stock. Don't go spending a bunch of money on a highschool car. Trust me. Your ideas are cool, and sound fun till you realize you spent a bunch of money on your parents' car that could have been spent on something else.

The more torque you're feeling is your need to mash down on the pedal now. They do sound good though, but with that ribbed hose still in there you didn't change much at all. A modification that your dad may be more inclined to let you do, is to save up for a new exhaust system, get rid of the resonator, and put a nice turbo-style muffler or a chambered on the back end. It will accomplish more than that intake, and it's air resources legal as long as all of it is behind the CAT and you still have a muffler in general.

That's what a turbo muffler is for. Keeps it from sounding like angry bees. It's louder but not super loud or obnoxious.
