Fender liner removal?

I searched and didnt find anything about this. Sorry if there is. I need to replace my drivers side fender liner on my '03. Being lowered and one of the clips came off, my tire ate a hole in the liner. lol Anyway, everything went smooth until I got to the three back bolts that hold it onto the fender. I have no idea how you are suppose to remove the plastic piece that the bolts go in. The plastic piece goes through the liner and into a square hole in the fender trim. Theres no way that I see of getting the square plastic bolt holder 'nut' out to remove the liner. Anyone ever take theirs off and can shine some light on this, please? I'd like to replace the liner before it snows a lot here. Thanks.
