Gives you a better power to weight ratio and it's totally free.I've actually considered doing this in the distant future, when it gets to the point where I only expect my car to last another year or two. I'd consider stripping all of the carpet, non-essential interior and exterior trim and panels, roof rack, gut the A/C if it ever stopped working, etc. Maybe do all the eco-modder stuff to streamline the exterior. I'd just kind of do all of this as a project and see what results from it. My car is still a long way from getting to that point, though.Yes, it would be an eyesore, and no, that would not bother me at all.

Trade it in for something that drinks more fuel and goes faster. You can't have both, speed and MPG's. Accept the Vibe for what it is or get rid of it.Shop wisely you might even put money in your pocket if you find a good used go fast car.Dave
Yea I like a G6 lol, I still owe 7k on my vibe, I got my Ls1 formula, but isn't a daily driver, this morning I got rape by a 09 black civic si in my vibe, he pulled me @ 80mph & my car couldn't catch up, close to 2-3 cars yea I like a S/C but I'm still saving for a Head & Cam swap on my Formula

im gonna wait, b/c its winter, and im trying to find a wrecked gt tht i can pull the motor and trans out of and put in my car, not easy, but i love my vibe

well don't forget about getting a 2zz-ge out of a wrecked Toyota Celica GT....And if you can get the whole car you could pull the rear disc brakes off and have ALL the parts you need for a conversion from your drum brakes....

Making power is never that easy. With todays cars being so computer controlled and often highly regulated there is no such thing as cheap extra power. You will either spend a lot of money and get a decent improvement or you will spend hundreds and get noise, possibly less power and possibly fewer mpg's.Don't buy into the hype that a CAI or an SRI, electric "supercharger," or spiral insert in the inlet tube is going to solve all your power and economy problems. They won't.What they will do is separate you from some of your money.

Quote, originally posted by A Psycho Martyr »well wouldn't you be able to salvage all the parts from the Celica?Possibly, but the trans won't work in a Vibe. I read it on here somewhere that the 6-sp in the GT is different from the 6-sp Celica trans and they do not interchange. As for the brakes??? You would probably need the master cylinder (but I'd go with new instead) and certainly need the proportioning valve as well as the rear discs (calipers/parking brake hardware, etc) themsleves. And would they even bolt up to a bases rear axle or would custom adapter brackets need to be fabricated?

thats why im looking for a 03-04 vibe gt, so i can possibly use the rear brakes, plus it has all the stuff for the vibe 6 speed setup, stuff ill need bc im swapping out an auto

Then I'd have to say you are on the right track. I believe '05 stuff would work also, yes? Or was that the first year of DBW for the GT?But based on what I had read, not actually experienced, I was replying to those that suggested using Celica pieces.
