Smack it.. really.. on the side.. One of my friends had a Grand Prix with the same radio and that would happen to hers.. So, you could just smack it.. and POOF it worked!

Sounds like my HVAC lights. I just tap on them & they come back on.

I had one out and smacked it.... they all went out. That was 2 yrs ago. I did the surgery on it and now it is time to do it again. down to one bulb. NO, I am not going to mack it. Back then LEDs did not work in it. I wonder if anyone found a LED that works in the stock radio now?

Quote, originally posted by Digger » I wonder if anyone found a LED that works in the stock radio now? I haven't been keeping up with LED technology, but I think of LEDs as binary. An incandescent bulb will be of varying brightness depending on the voltage you put across it, but an LED will be off completely until the votage gets up to a certain threshold, and then it will come on full bright. You can control the apparent brightness of an LED by switching it on and off too fast for the human eye to notice and it will appear to be brighter if its on more than off than it would appear to be if it was off more than on. However, I think the interior lighting control in the Vibe is just a variable resistor, putting a variable voltage on the interior lights and not a variable pulse width. My expectation is that if you put LEDs in there, they won't be variable brightness like the rest of the interior dash lights are
