What points on the body do you use to jack your car up off the ground. There does not look to be anything substantial enough in the front of the car to place my floor jack. Once I get the car in the air I need to put in Jack stands - the only place I can see to put them is just rear and inboard of the front tires. What about on the rear of the car? I could jack up the rear using the rear suspension crossmember - it looks pretty beefy - do I just put my jack stands under the rear crossmember or should I go somewhere else?Let me know how you guys do it.thanksEd
Under the front doors youll see the frame, you can jack up the drivers side first, then the other side. do it there, then put a jack stand under. For the rear if you look under the rear door theres 2 notches cut out in the plastic trim, put a jack there then a jack stand right next to it. The pic is for the front:

Jack points for floor jacks are on the vehicle centerline so that you can lift the entire front or rear of the car -- not just one wheel at a time. The Matrix manual does illustrate floor jack lifting points on page 239. I don't have a scanner hooked up any more so I took a shot with my digital camera -- not the best quality shot but it'll do. It doesn't matter what type of jack is used.quote:Jack points for floor jacks are on the vehicle centerline so that you can lift the entire front or rear of the car -- not just one wheel at a time.Incorrect. Jack points are areas of the car that can support the weight of the car while being lifted. Jacking a car by the center with a floor jack is not safe. You should jack one side at a time and use jack stands.

ARE WE SURE the Vibe has these special reinforcements?I know they're the same, but they aren't 100% identical...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
I'll take a look today when I put my car on jack-stands for my rear swaybar installation :DIf I'm feelin' good, I'll even do a full writeup on everything. Yippie.
30 mins to install RSB, not bad! The effects of it come in a subtle way - you just feel like you are going slower than you are through all turns, but when you look down at the speedometer, you are going like 10mph faster :DTo be on topic: I used the center jack point as indicated in the image above, and it worked perfectly. Used jackstands on the sides of the vehicle where the built-in jack woulda supported the rear, and everything went smoothly. So I would say go for it, use that center jackpoint and be merry in the fields!
