Hi Everyone, I just picked up my new Vibe from the dealership yesterday! What a zippy car! Today after a nice drive in the country, I opened the front passenger side door I found a wasp nest ! . I guess the bumpy country roads must have aggravated the wasps. When the door was opened they came storming out at my friend!! Who says the dealerships don't give any complementary accessories away any more! This is one I could have done without! Has this EVER happened to anyone else? Could there be a large gap in the door that lets in bugs?
I bet that wasn't part of the deal. Think you'll take it back to get them to remove the guests, or will you do it yourself? Congrats on the new Vibe, what kind/color did you get?
I always thought that was what the Pontiac grill looked like - a wasp (or bee) nest.

Wasps? OUCH! I know there is a gap between the doors, but never thought it could house a wasp nest?!?The Vibe grill does look like honeycomb, mmm... honey!

How long was that car sitting on the lot to have a wasp nest in it, and more importantly, how could the guys who prepped it (assuming they did, like they should have) not come across that? That's just flat out absurd!!!
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
It doesn't take long at all for a wasp to get a nest going. They like to set up camp under my pool rails. I can knock them down, and a week later go out and have golfball sized nests under each section. If the car sat at the dealer for just a few days, I could believe the wasps could have made a small one. And they don't need a very big access hole/seam to get into either.
Congratulations on your new Vibe. Sorry to hear about the wasps though. Two insects I really hate are wasps and hornets. They are mean, annoying and they build their nests anywhere they want. I would have the dealer clean them out and make sure they get every trace of them out of there.

You should have taken it back that dya if you found it the day you bought it. They should have given you a free oil change or a couple of free car washes. You paid the dealer to prep the car so you need a refund or an exchange of services. It maybe to late now.
Just here to lend a hand to people who have questions about their Vibe.
It's still only the day after Zip found the nest. How they treat the customer when Zip-zip takes it back in will be a good indicator on what kind of support to expect from that particular dealer. Better to find out now over something like this than to wait until some critical repair is neededZip-zip, if they give you a hard time and don't treat you the way that you think they should, it might be a good idea to find a different and hopefully better dealer to service your new car. If they do treat you right, keep them and be grateful.
