Here are a few pictures of my Vibe. I love this car so much! I have many plans for it, mostly aesthetic, but I may do some things to the engine, or do a diesel swap, but that's WAY in the future, like several years. The 1zz-VVT-i is good enough for me right now, though. When we brought it homeThe next dayToday, driving through a snowed-out parking lot at our old Menards hardware store. The Vibe did good, and got through some tall snow. But as you can see in this picture, I need new rear tires. And don't be fooled by how it looks, it is actually REALLY dirty, and salty. We bought it dirty, but by driving it it's gotten salty. The sooner I can leave this state, the better (for my cars sake)Enjoy!
It was fun! But after that picture was taken I almost got stuck, but I shifted to L and got out of it. My all-weather tires are good enough for me. The Vibe is really capable with what it's got. I love the silver too! It barely show any dirt of any sort! As for the diesel, I want power, and MPGs. I want Prius' to envy me as I get similar mileage as I smoke them off the line. It'd probably be a 2.0 TDI engine, with dual-clutch transmission I'd grab from a totaled Jetta. Or maybe I'd go to a manual.
Well, here's what I have been up to....Full grill block (TEETH!!), (winter) air dam, taped over roof rails to make them more aerodynamic, and pizza pan wheel covers (which need some work). It gets decent for winter mileage, and I'm happy. It is having a new radio deck and an auto-start/security system installed. I have my eyes on some Hella supertones, and an H-tech kit.
I saw that on ecomodder earlier today. You need to paint it black and the teeth red!!!Now: Shouldn't the upper grill block be flush with the hood? What about some rear wheel skirts?
The skirts are coming, we just need a good design for them. The teeth are quickly becoming what my car is known for, so I may cut a part out of the center of it for the summer, and I'll put it back in for winter. But yes, the center will be black eventually, and the teeth, I was thinking silver (with one gold one, and red stains!). The upper block needs refining, and I may end up with something like the one Tango_charlie has on his Vibe (on ecomodder).
Ha ha, thank you. Some of the aero mods will become more 'stealthy' or better looking. Like I want to do a belly pan, which would eliminate the need for the air dam (Which DOES work). Some pieces, like my 'ding' air deflector (spring loaded, my own design ) would be painted black. The teeth are a good conversation starter (only to be enhanced by the eyelids), and the grill block is a good place to put my employers logo (Vib has been dubbed the 'School Space Media mobile' by one of the 5 guys at 'corporate'). I want to do lexan wheel covers and rear skirt, if possible, so I can keep the Vibe lookin' good! What I'll eventually get is a good mix of aesthetics and aero. Oh, and those scratches on her front bumper, by the passenger side fog lamp... They scratch right off. How about that? Not sure what could cause that, but it's made me more weary of snow banks. The looks I get make it worth it all, in the end!
Today I got her washed, just so I could take some good pictures of her for VOTM. I used my actual camera, and not my cell phone, so they look great! Interior shot, with my MPG gauge and radio deck. Current mileageMy DRLs switch with Dymo label and angel thing that belongs on the sun visor, but the Vibes visor is too thick, so I have to put it here.
There are very few people who will get this: If you understand what this is, I'll be a very happy person. But now is when I start to get stealthy with my aero-mods! Yesterday, she was running hotter, so I took off her teeth, and today I hid her upper grille blocks behind the grilles, so she looks pretty goo! I'll get a picture tomorrow.
Did you see the comercial for the new Focus? You should try making a mechanical setup like on that. One that lets you close the front off or open it when needed.

One that lets you close the front off or open it when needed. I've known about the shutter grille for a while, via the Cruze Eco. Someone on ecomodder has tried that to no avail. I'm thinking I'll give it another go, but maybe try with a Focus or Cruze Eco one, the measurements just need to fit. I have hidden the upper grille block behind the grille, giving Vib a near-stock look, taken off her air dam, and the bottom grille block is gone for the warmth! Plus, new lights! I love them. They help start the aftermarket look, and use less power than the DRL. Coming soon: tail light redouts, and hopefully eyelids. And unfortunately.... I've had a little incident. Vib has been hit in the rear nice and gently. On a normal car this would be no issue. But on mine, where repairs have been done and the clear clearly ran on my drivers side fender flare, it was an issue. Sub-par paint and no flex-agent has given me this: A real pain. I don't blame who did this, and am frankly happy that it was him who did it. He's nice, kind, was very sorry, and somber about it. I'll get this redone, but would like some advice. What I've gotten so far has not been too good. My dad and auto-shop teacher say it needs a full repaint. Any input? Thanks!

We also enjoy partaking in your shenanigans while in disguise.Well, yesterday I got the tap-in connector on, but it was almost exactly 1mm form the green-orange wire. But today I have remedied that! Here she is with her fog lights mod, driving lights, and you can even see her stealth grille block!
Plasti-dipped rear PONTIAC thing. Not as glossy as I would've liked, but I do like it! Next up to Plasti-dip: that 'diffuser' part on the rear bumper (After that one spot is fixed) and the door mouldings. Some contraption which I created so the HMCBL wouldn't shine down into my cargo area. It fits pretty well against my glass, and has ZERO shine down. ... meanwhile the ad in the upper-right says: Interested in the Vibe? Looking for a Pontiac Vibe? Then Check Out the Chevy HHR.http://www.Chevrolet.com/HHRYeah right, like that's going to happen...
My step-sister's beat-up Grand Am was here having it's tires checked (they're near-bald) and, well, her car having the front damage which it has (cosmetic mostly, it's had: a tree fall on it, has hit a deer, has been driven into snowbanks and has had a prior accident before her ownership) so I just... pulled off her Pontiac badge. She didn't mind. Her V6 on her fender almost fell off (it now resides on my flash drive). So, I put her Pontiac badge on my B-pillar. I think it might be a tad big, but I do like it.Thoughts? Oh, and that Celica GT is my oldest sister's car.
