Hello, This post from this thread says:Quote, originally posted by mcgusto82 »behind the light dimmer control. there is a red/white wire. this is the negative trigger for the driver's door. our cars are negative trigger. so connect your power to the battery, and ground there. just so you know, once the door is open the lights will come on, once you close the door. the lights will go off. So i can use that to find the Driver's door trigger, but the stickied wiring diagram says it's the red/yellow wire going from the front drivers side down to the back with a bunch of other wires. Are these the 2 door triggers that i have to diode isolate? Thanks
Depending on a persons eyesight, lighting conditions and age of the wire, a red/white wire might appear as red/yellow...Quote, originally posted by Laserbeak43 ». Try it and see!I'd help more but I find wiring (and dealing with modifying it) tedious so I try to stay away from dealing with it... good luck!!!
I've been neglecting the audio forum for a little while. I tied my trigger to the dome light switch wire behind the dome light switch. I went to the same wire McGusto82 used the Red/White I did not isolate mine as I don't use dome light supervision. You will only need to isolate if you are doing dome light supervision. The Red/White wire will monitor all door triggers as it triggers when the dome light is on.
Vibe is gone and will be missed as I've gone country style

But when you say dome light switch, does that mean that i have to take the roof panel off to get to it?
the only thing my little panel has there on that side are a dimmer, and the mirror controls. the dimmer only has a white wire with a red stripe, white with a black stripe, black and 2 greens. all of the other wires are tied to the mirror controls. Can i find this dome wire in the same place as you?P.S.I won't need a relay for this, right? I mean I have one, if i need to do it, but it's not actually controlling the light, just getting a signal, right?
heh, so i found two red white wires going down the side, and i tapped and isolated them and connected them to the alarm cause i couldn't find the dome/light wire audiovibe had mentioned, but the malfunctions that they warn about were true, which means that one of those red/wite wires aren't a door trigger wire.
The switch in this pic for the dash illumination next to the mirror controls, if rotated all the way up triggers the dome light, this is where I wired mine to. I will try to see what wire I used tomorrow after work if I have time, I have a X-mas party to go to for my wifes work.

interestingi keep mine all the way up till it clicks all the time, and have the dome lights set to door, and it never comes on.Thanks for the pic. I'm gonna lock up the lab and go play with the lights in my car, I'll let u know what happens. Enjoy the party!! -edit-I've played with every combination involving the headlights switch, domelights switch and the dimmer, but it just wont turn on.
What year is your vibe? I wouldn't think they would change the dimmer switch. All the way up would defeat the dome light, one click down would turn the dome light on and click down again will control the dimmer. Thats how mine works. Now I am wishing I would have photologged my alarm install. If it warms up in a couple weeks I can remove my dash to show you where I went for all my connections I cant get into my garage as one bay has a dismantled 442 and the other bay has stuff for our new house build. My other garage has no heat

sorry about the late reply, working on some house projects. I have a 2006 base model. manual transmission etc. It seems funny that my vibe would exclude this feature as well. OK, just checked the manual(sorry left it at my desk here at home or else i would have checked it yesterday) and there's no dome light feature mentioned for my dimmer. bummer :/that's not gonna be an option for me.
just so that you can see what i mean, here's the interior light switch and two pics of the interior of the interior light switch as you can see, i don't have that extra dome light switch on my dimmer.
I have a similar problem and there seems to be no wiring diagram to find the right wire connected to the dimmer switch. The only thing I can think of is using a multimeter to "check" which wire is "on"..
