My local credit union has a 2007 Vibe repo with 8,000 miles on it. Looks like new, has Preferred package and sport trim. They want $13k for it.I read about the ECM/PCM recall and was wondering if I would be entitled to warranty replacement of the PCM buying this as a used car. Also, can I verify during my inspection of the car whether the PCM on this car has been updated? Is the part number easily visible?thanks
when was there a pcm recall?EDIT:ohhh recall was in 2010.. If you take the vin or car to a GM dealer they will be able to tell you if the recall was done. Since it is a Recall the repair will be free. I would agree 13k sounds like too much for a vibe, but by nada seems to think thats almost "clean" retail. I would see if you can get it cheaper though. Its already out of warranty and some new small hatches start a few grand above that before negotiating.
Ok, so I can get the recall taken care of if needed.I think the price is a little high too. But NADA adds a $3300 premium for the low miles. Edmunds is similar.Just the fact that a 4-year old vehicle with only 8,000 miles ends up being repossessed by the credit union seems odd.thanks for the replies
