Hello Vibe community. We bought a 2003 Vibe for our son. We're very happy with it and found this Vibe forum awesome. I know need some more advice. The speakers sound very hollow, like there is no treble. My buddy is an auto mechanic so he's going to test everything to see what the problem is. The question is, if we find out we need to replace speakers, what speakers for front, rear, etc... do you suggest? We're looking at mid-range pricing here for his Christmas present...if he wants to do subwooders etc..., that will be later and on his dime. I just want to get him a decent set for Christmas at a decent price. Thanks to all who reply. Mike from Michigan

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-t....htmlI always research using Crutchfield because they will tell you what will fit your vehicle and you can find reviews of the various speakers also. Then once I decide on a set, I google that set and find a better price.
About this time last year Crutchfield had a sale on Polk db651s so I purchased 2 sets for my 2008 Vibe. Installation was pretty easy. They sounded good with the stock radio headunit; better than the stock speakers. They sounded even better when in the spring I replaced the stock unit with a Kenwood KDC-HD545U.
I second the Polks...I purchased a pair to replace the front speakers. Yes they sound great even with the factor head unit.
