I hope someone here will be able to answer this or be able to point me in the right direction at least. My wife was rear-ended by a F150 extended cab truck. Both vehicles were at a complete stop at a red light. The light turned green and the F150 hit the gas pushing the Vibe partially into the intersection. The Vibe itself did not appear to take any damage. Both bolts holding the bottom of the bumper sheared off and there is a nickel sized 1/4" depth dent in the hatch door. The crumple zone did not collapse and that is what I need information on. At what speed does the rear crumple zone collapse? My wife suffered pretty bad whiplash yet the insurance is claiming the injuries don't match the damage on the vehicle.Logically the crumple zone should collapse above a certain level of force but not so quickly that minor hits do major, expensive structural damage to the vehicle. I need to find this information.Any advice on finding this information would be helpful.
No history of migraines, headaches, or neck issues.L4 and L5 were previously injured when we were rear ended in a Corolla over 12 years ago. That has since healed and we had 2 children since then. No back aggravation from the pregnancies so it should be presumed that the previous accident had been very well or completely healed.X-Rays were taken of the entire spine and showed no abnormalities.

I was rear-ended in a low speed crash in a my Mustang. No metal bent, the bumper was pushed to the left a little, and was a little scuffed. It was a truck that hit me going around 10-15MPH.. I had some whiplash, but I never went to get medical treatment. Two out of four of us in the car went to the hospital for whiplash. So I can believe she is quite sore, I sure was.
