This is what she looks like: One thing that really drew me to this car is how few of them there are on the road - at least here in MD. I have told many people that I was going to replace my Altima (which was wrecked in an accident) with a Pontiac Vibe. The most common reaction I got was, "A what? I never heard of that car before."

Welcome Since you're still learning, be very careful to not overburn that clutch. They're notorious for their weak "bite" and seem to burn out early. Does a friend or family member have a beater you could practice on?Nice lookin' GT BTW
How would I go about burning the clutch? Is that when I have both the clutch and the accelerator pushed down? If so, then I've done that a couple of times accidently... you know, not realizing that I haven't let up on the clutch enough.By the way, I've learned a very important leasson - when shifting from nuetral to 1st gear, make sure you are really in first gear and not in third!! I made that mistake many times, causing the car to stall over and over again.I have a question (which I posted on the maintenance board) - you see that this, hard rubber thing on the car door under the Vibe GT logo? Well, my drunk neighbor opened her door and hit that part of my car, which made a nice little scratch. It is tough to see (that pic is before she did that), but it is bugging the hell out of me. Any tips on fixing or repairing it?A buddy of mine let me practice on his Jeep Cherokee. That was extremely helpful. Also, a friend helped me learn on mine - I don't think he'd let me drive his Honda Civic Si to learn. Thanks for the compliments, btw!

quote: I have had her for one full day now, and I'm still learning how to drive stick!Gee.... I had to learn to drive an automatic when I got my AWD! I'd only ever had standards before. My first impression was "Man, a monkey could drive an automatic!" So much more time to gauk at the scenery....
quote: My first impression was "Man, a monkey could drive an automatic!"That is so true. The ease of driving an automatic explains how the people that shouldn't be driving got their license! In general, the drivers in MD aren't very good. I would say fully half of the motorists should either take their license exam again or have it revoked.
