Now I see the yellow coming from the fogs.Usually when a halogen bulb package states things like 130/100w in big numbers they are trying to convince the customer of something that is either not probable, (e.g. Get 130w of power from this 55w bulb!!), or will cause serious harm to the vehicle, such as if the bulbs actually do draw 100-130watts... false advertising or "hype." Take your pick, and why I made my previous comments.oh, got you. yeah i bought them knowing they were 55, i just wanted to change the color. they do seem slightly brighter than stock though. were you saying something earlier about taking the headlights apart? painting the housing is next on my list.

New bulbs (a fresh filament) AND the new color. I will be curious to know how long they last though? I (stupidly) bought some Chinese made eBay bulbs once just to try them out. After cleaning them completely, letting them dry and taking care on installation (hardly my first round-up replacing halogens,) one burnt out almost immediately (second usage) and the other was not far behind, but it wasn't worth trying to get a refund/replacement. Yes I did post about headlight lens removal. But I'm sure Keith knows much more about it than I do since that is his cottage industry. I do know that making sure the lens gets resealed correctly is critical. Again, Keith would know more tricks than do I.A young friend of mine here in Austin w/an MS3 has taken his apart several times (angel eyes. 'Should never use the double-stick foam tape that comes with them) and now he's got a RS headlight that takes on water when he washes the car or when it rains hard... but the angel eye in it still works!! LOL

Odds are you'll one day sell your Vibe. Will you reinstall On-Star at that time? You never know but that the new owner will want it, knows that Vibes came with it, and might be peeved that it isn't there. Just a thought...

It'll sit on a shelf with the other car stuff. I'll reinstall it when I sell it or trade it in... but that's years down the road. 3 bolts and plut it in!

They look nice, but I would be concerned about the alloys in, what I can only imagine must be a hard winter in your area, MB (Mercedes Benz? ) Even when I still lived in Pa, alloys were not the best choice for winter weather, road salt, constant moisture, etc.Nope. I think you should remount the Blizzards on steelies and send the alloys MY WAY!!!

Just installed a Polished Steel Exhaust Tip made for the vibe by GM part#12497926. As you can see by the pics it gives the Vibe that extra punch..lol.. Normally from the dealer they cost $80.00 bucks, but I got lucky and found one on Ebay Brand New for 33 bucks including shipping. I wanted to stick with the Genuine GM Polished Steel Exhaust Tip accessory part over aftermarket exhaust Tips since it's made to fit perfectly over OEM tip and is of a much better quality over other aftermarket tips I've seen.

Still Man, they look good in the pics!!I might dismount them after winter, fix/paint them up and use those as my summer wheels instead.Or... you can send them to ME?? Looks GREAT, rmlmt. It does add some punch to the rear end.

Thanks, " To give it that extra punch" was something I read in the 04 Vibe Dealer brochure which I thought was too good to not include. haha.. Now if I can just find some Stock Alloy Wheels to replace my Steel Wheels/Hubcaps I'll be happy.

Had the pedal and floor modifications done on my mom's Vibe yesterday. Her new driver's side all weather floor mat wasn't in yet and they had to "turn the old one in to GM" so my all weather floor mat is in hers for the time being and I had to put the pristine carpeted floor mat in mine . While at the dealer, I had them order the all new accelerator pedal for mine so that should be in next week hopefully and while I'm there having that installed I should be able to pick up my mom's all weather floor mat and I will have them order the new pedal for my mom's . I am pretty sure the people in the service department are getting a little sick of me . I am also pretty sure I know more about the Vibe and everything pertaining to this latest recall than the service department employees do !

I bet you were glad to see it was nothing major .I always triple check that every part is tight, everything's connected, etc. before I re-connect the battery. Than I always start it and let it run for a few minutes to make sure no lights come on or anything.

Rotated the tires on my Vibe today, only to discover one of them had a nail in it. I pulled it out hoping it was a small one and it hadn't actually gone through the tread. No such luck . So, tomorrow my dad is going to take it to a tire shop and have it plugged for me while I'm at work. That means the Vibe will be rocking 3 18" wheels and 1 16" steelie tomorrow . I have not had the best of luck with tires and the Vibe .

I haven't had a problem in a while now, but when we first moved where we are now, the mesquite thorns were everywhere and we had 4-5 tires punctured by them. I just pulled them out and using a drill w/a 5/16" bit in it, reamed out the hole a bit and used a home plug kit. It worked well for me every time.

At first, I thought it was the "new" wheel and tire that had the nail in it, but it wasn't. That would have been a little weird .

Since the owner of the tire shop (Flatso's) could see where the hole was, that meant the tire didn't need to be removed from the wheel, so he only charged $5.00 to plug it (with stuff that looked like poop ). The owner of the tire shop actually remembered me from when I bought our winter tires there last year. He asked my dad, "So, does this mean you daughter's getting ready to put the winter wheels on?" On the downside, he failed to replace the chrome valve cap on the wheel , but it's not a big deal because I have extras.

Plugs are ok, but the best way to repair a tire is taking the tire off the rim, scuffing the inside of the tire with a wire-wheel, and then using a patch-plug. Also, I trust the owner of the tire shop more than I do someplace like Discount Tire. Not to mention I prefer to give business to small "mom and pop" type places as opposed to places like Discount Tire, etc.

Somehow the wifes J-Bolt from the battery tie down had disappeared. So yesterday she called and said the car would not start, I had her wiggle the battery and everything was fine.So this morning I pulled the battery and replaced the dust cover on the drivers side headlight that I couldn't work on when I replaced the headlight, and installed a new J-Bolt. I had to buy the part from Toyota, when I called the GM dealer here in Dallas he said there was 10 of them in the country. Their support for this car is such a joke. The Toyo dealer 5 minutes from my house had one. The bolt and the nut $20 bucks and I am done...

Removed the FM Modulator.Un-moded the center console outlet to stock operation. Found Out I need a Ammeter that reads above 300mA DC. Need to find out how much phantom power my vibe is usuing in a powered off state.Found Out I have Free XM for some reason. I canceled it over a year ago and It stopped working. Today found that it is working. not getting any bill for it nor charged. Wonder how long free XM will last and wonder how long It would have worked before I found it.

Something tells me SiriusXM is preparing for Howard to not resign, and getting people hooked enough to buy subscriptions again to cover the subscriber losses that are Stern fans. Maybe I'm reading way too into this, but they may also be making a "holiday play" to get Xmas gift subscriptions.
Steelies to the rescue.
