I've never experienced such grabby brakes as are in my 03 Vibe GT. I was thinking something had to be wrong with them, but when took them in for an inspection, was told everything looked fine. Are Vibes known for touchy brakes? I just barely have to press them to experience a sudden halt. Seems a little dangerous....
When I first got my 09 GT I thought that they were overly touchy too. Compared to my '00 Mustang which compared to these, I had to mash on to get it to stop. You should get used to it before long.

So it might be worth it to take them apart and go through them... It's rather easy really.. I even have a tutorial on the subject.. It could be that you are just used to REALLY crappy brakes too.. just a thought.. But having them taken down to parts is the only REAL way to know if anything is wrong FOR SURE..
brakes on these little cars a definitely boosted a lot. Took me a little bit to adjust to them on my first Vibe. Other cars may stop quicker depending on model and speed but that instant grab the Vibe provides gives you a nice feeling of being able to react to something.
