I am in Toronto, Canada and am a proud owner of a new 2004 Pontiac Vibe Base Wagon - Auto, A/C/, CD, Power Everything (not sure if it has ABS or not)53,000KM (KM not Miles) - got it for $7000 , private deal, 1 owner, MINT conndition in and out, driven by an elderly ladyWhat do you guys think of the deal?Is there anything I should check maintenence wise or do anything before taking it on the road? The car sat alot at periods - so there is some noise from the tires, maybe flat spots, or maybe bearings - not sure, will have to get that checked, otherwise no issues. Its actually for my wife as her first car.
Do you think they are still the original tires?Does it still have the factory original battery?I'd probably change the oil, tranny fluid and coolant, mostly just to know that they have been changed at some point.sounds like a good deal, but where are the pictures? welcome to genvibe
Welcome! I have the same 2004 base Vibe with 79000 miles. I've been driving it for 4 years now and find it very reliable. Do you have an owners manual so you can see the recommended maintenance schedule? If not it is available by searching Gen Vibe. You might also look in the forum "Maintenance Bay" for more tips and discussions.I agree with what Joatmon suggested above.

I assume that ABS would also be 4 wheel disc brakes - if so, easy to tell. On an older car maybe lack of ABS is a plus. It is expensive to repair.
