Yep got them installed today. Anyone else? I wanted to beat the rush and I wanted to be able to get the car in the garage - car doesn't fit with the tires in there.

I'm always waiting for the first call for snow before switching tires... It takes about an hour to switch my GF's car and mine but I've got to admit that its getting cold these days and I'm leaving home in the morning in the minus celsius.
Quote, originally posted by bull77 »I plan to put mine on before the 30th -- it's already getting cold in the morning Yeah I'm scraping the frost off in the mornings when we leave. But now I can park in the garage so buh-bye scraper!

Our 16" steelies will go on right before the first snowfall. I looked back in my maintenance log and they didn't go on until December 5 last year, so I figure we still have at least a month of rocking the 18s left !

Every year I wait until the daytime high is below 0 or there is snow accumulation in the forecast. It hasn't burned me yet, and I'll enjoy the sweet ride on my summer tires for a few more weeks

End of the month for me In Quebec it is the law you have to have your snow tires on by December 15th! So I also want to avoid the last minute rush.Already had frost on the windows yesterday morning lol

Quote, originally posted by keithvibe »booo HISSSSSSeven mentioning the word winter... boooo ban yourself for a week! agreed on all counts. i'll probably be installing mine on thanksgiving. it's the perfect time. right before snow(usually) plus i don't have anything going on that day. roads are clear and highways too so i can give them a test to make sure they are on properly. and no, i don't mean skidding around or going really fast, speed limits!
Glad I don't have to worry about this, gonna be in FL for good in about a month. Good bye to snow possibilities in NC.

These are on the way in preparation for the swap: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...13673I hated the way the OEM lugs looked last year against my sexy black-painted steelies. Our nightly lows are only reaching the 40s now, so I'll likely be putting them on around Thanksgiving. I think I made it until early December last year, though...
Today was the time.Mine are on xtra wheels and the local store does the swap for free and puts the summer tires in bags for me.Actually rides better, noiselevel about the same cause summer tires are ready to replace in the spring.

Well, winter tires are finally installed. Always a good thing when its done.Urg... plastic wheel covers. That always take some getting used to.Although I must say that for the first time in 2 years, I finally have a worthy setup to change my tires. That stupid POS scissor jack was starting to bend under the car's weight so I got myself a 2.5 ton SUV floor jack with a pinch weld adapter and it's just wonderful. No more cursing on the scissor jack and scraping my hand on the garage floor each time I turn the handle on it.

Still original brakes (touch wood).Considering the snows are usually on til the end of March, knowing I have 5 months of snow tires and winter driving ahead is a little disappointing!
