Hello from Ohio

Post by HMPower »

Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I bought an '05 Base back in January of this year, and have been a lurker on here since then. So far I'm really enjoying my Vibe - Neptune Blue, monochrome appearance pkg and M&T (yay). No issues with her so far, and averaging just about 30mpg overall - so no complaints there.

Welcome to GenVibe!Of course, you probably know by now that we love photos! We enjoyed several visits to your fine city in the last several years when my son was considering OSU. (He ended up at Indiana for financial & scholarship reasons. As I understand it, OSU 'soaks' out-of-staters because state law prohibits tuition increases for in-state students.) Got to see the Crew play an exhibition game against West Ham in '08 too. Now THAT was an experience!

I went to OSU, mostly for the cheap tuition They do have tuitino increases across the board, but out of state students pay a much higher rate. This site is a great resource, my first (and only so far) mod was the Home Depot welcome/cargo mat...great idea!

I think Indiana state universities also soak out-of-staters. I had a scholarship to Purdue in 1960 that essentially let me pay the in-state tuition rate. Though I had a 5.5/6.0 grade average in that freshman year Purdue "regretfully" informed me that they could not renew my scholarship. I don't remember what out of state tuition was but it was plenty. Within 48 hours I was at Ohio State applying. At the time I think Ohio State tuition was $100 a quarter. The next year I think it went up to $125 but I did get a little scholarship money that year based on my academic record.

I graduated from a small parochial high school and was scared to death of the competition in College so I studied like mad that first year. After that I slacked off a bit and enjoyed the college experience a bit more. To this day I tell people I didn't have the highest number of points but I am very confident that my points per hour of study time went unmatched.
