Last night I did the brakes and rotors on my 05 Vibe. I have 110,000 on it. The pads were toyota pads but I doubt they could still be original after all of that time. Probably one of the easiest brake jobs I've ever done on a vehicle. I think I'll have the old rotors turned and keep for spares. I've had the car since Thanksgiving of 09 and I've put about 35,000 on it so far. Yes I drive alot! Time for another oil change soon, K&N needs cleaned and charged, and probably a mini-drain of the tranny. Where does that leave time for hunting?

hold off on the resurfacing till you are ready to use them. If you resurface them now they will become pitted and rusted well before you are ready to use them

good call on the waiting. I'll have to get them up in my attic and off the garage floor so they don't get more rust. They weren't in bad shape but I like new/new surface rotors with new pads.

I'm getting a wierd vibration/sound when I brake with any force now that it's been a bit.Did you torque your lug nuts when you put things together? I've proven to myself it's FAR more difficult to warp a rotor, when the lugs are properly torqued to spec... This holds true for warping one as well, if one or more of the lugs is torqued more than the others, if the rotor gets hot, the lugs can actually help "pull" a rotor out of straight with the stresses it puts on the hub.. I usually stress having even a 20$ torque wrench in the tool box for lugs.. I have one JUST for lugs, it's not accurate for nothing, but as long as you are CLOSE to the proper torque and the torque is EVEN between the lugs, you'll be far less likely to warp a rotor.. ALSO, if you are new to alloy wheels, the lugs can loosen over time, especially when torquing them to the proper torque (76ft.lbs)Good luck, Cheers..
I did and always do use a torque wrench on my lugs to the proper spec. I'm pretty sure it's not a warped rotor as these were brand new. For whatever reason, the sound/vibration is gone. Maybe that pad just didn't set in as quick as the other. I thought I had given them a good going over.Time for winter wheels this week I think so I'll have a peak in there just for giggles. I'll also take a look at the left rear (drum) as I have an annoying squeek when I let off the brake pedal.
