i want to upgrade my lights to the brighter white lights, but would like to what kind and how much they are. I have subwoofers in my car and they suck so much juiceout of the battery, that everytime the bass hits they darken, so i need something pretty darn bright. What kind would anyone recommend, and how much (price wise) am i looking at?Thanks

Well if u r looking for HIDs (High Intensity Discharge) ugonna want to buy the 5000k, those are the really white ones and then u have to get them 9003 size for ur head and 9006 if u want ur foglights too. If u dont want HIDs then u can get just normal white bulbs same size.

If your light are THAT dim, you are SOOOOO doing something wrong with your audio.. 800w is not that much.. I ran 1500w+ on a 60A (hot) alternator and didn't have issues like that.. If it's a class A/B amp it will draw a LOT more current than the newer class D amps, so that is something to consider.. Power cabling can play a roll as well.. not a huge roll, but something none-the-less.. What's the fuse rating for the amp? (what's it got for fuses in it?)I would consider figuring out the problem, rather than band-aiding the issue..

Did you get them for the fog lights and the headlights? For future reference Jeremy, get them on eBay, they're much cheaper than Auto Zone, Walmart, etc.So, are you coming to the meet this weekend ?

Well, like I said, although 99% of the members here don't like SilverStars, I personally love them. They lasted well over a year without burning out on me. I had them in both my Sunfires as well, and again, they lasted over a year without burning out. Also, as I said before, get them on eBay. For the price of one pair at Auto Zone, you can get both pairs (headlights and fog lights) on eBay. I recommend getting the SilverStar Ultras. They are noticeably brighter than regular Silver Stars and therefore well worth the little bit exta.SilverStar 9003 on eBaySilverStar 9006 on eBayThey also make SilverStar bulbs that will fit in your reverse lights which I had and highly recommend as well. They make backing up at night with tinted windows much easier . These I recommend just buying at Auto Zone though because they're less than $10.00 a pair there. You would need 7440 bulbs for the reverse lights. Now get your (removed) off the internet and start studying so you can come Saturday ! Good luck on your test Jeremy !

Quote, originally posted by rAERRK »to those that have installed new bulbs in their 03-08, how difficult was it? did you need to move anything like the battery to get access? Depends on the size of your hand. I had to losen up the battery and shift it over some, but didn't need to take it out. I imagine though when I ever need to change the HID I will need to move tons of stuff since I have the projectors lol.

If you have sausage-fingered "Man"-hands you will probably have to move the battery. If you have dainty "Girly"-hands you can do it with out moving the battery. Luckily, I can change them without moving the battery...

As far as the bulb itself, I honestly can't remember bc it's been so long since I've changed a regular bulb in the Vibe.

Oh, i think it's pressure loaded for a lack of better terms. there is a wire or clip or something that you have to get undone on one side then it swings open. then the bulb will be lose and you can pull it out from there.
