I know the bolt pattern is 5x114.3 with around a +40 offset but I thought I remember seeing a list on here of other Oem steel rims that would fit but after searching i can't find it. I want some used winter rim I know Camry and some other ones. Does anyone know where a list of other cars with similar specs. Thanks
I couldn't tell you since I just got '07 Camry 16" steel wheels for both mine and my mom's '09 GTs. I got my mom's set of 4 on eBay, 3 of mine on Craig's List and the fourth of mine from a local junkyard. All had less than 1000 miles on them and were very cheap. Lord knows they are plenty of Camrys out there, so I would just start out looking for Camry ones.

Hi James,I also was looking for winter steelies and did some web searching. Eventually I found a set of 4 that were not to far away. $200 for 4. They were 'take offs'.Some of the info from searching (MicroSoft Excel)
I promise this is the last one!! This is useful if you are looking into salvage (junk) yards. After see some of the 'junk' that they were trying to pass off, I decided to look for new or 'take offs'.On car-part.com, click 'home' and enter your info. On the 5th one down, I choose 'sort by price/select sort'. Hit 'search'. Then, click on 16x6-1/2 and hit 'search' again. Once you get your list, you can click 'Dist' in the upper right to find out who's closest to you.Definitely go look at them in person. I was looking for a console armrest. It was blue not black and was in worse shape than the one I was replacing. I'll post if I remember where I got my 'take offs'.

Ok, the last time!!!National Auto and Truck Salvage (419-645-4108) in Wapakoneta, OH off I-75.Actually, its 4505 Hanthorn Road, Cridersville, OHThe wheels are at their second location SSE of Lima, OH off I-75. This is a building (farm?) out in the country. Mine came out of the barn across the road along with dust, spider webs and some hay. I paid in cash and the guy didn't even ask for the tax.
I'm 99% sure all 8 of the ones that I got for our Vibes were "take offs" as they had less than 1000 on them. "Take offs" are ones that dealers take off to replace with alloy wheels to be able to sell a car for more money. They typically have very little miles on them and therefore, are practically brand new at a fraction of the price.

Ron. This is useful information to have as I too will be sparing my 18" GT wheels this upcoming winter and looking for a complete set of 16" to take their place December through March. Last winter the Vibe was garaged and driven ONLY on nice days. That will NOT be the case this winter. There's a slight chance I'll go new BUT only if $$$ is no issue. I'll seriously start looking late October into November
Tim,The people at National Auto and Truck Salvage (419-645-4108) in Wapakoneta, OH off I-75 (actually, its 4505 Hanthorn Road, Cridersville, OH). Pretty much a straight shot down I-75. Use http://www.car-part.com/ if you want someone closer.I'd deal with them again especially since no tax ($14) was involved.RonOff Topic: How's the project for the lights for the grilles outside of the fogs coming?
Thanks so much That will help me alot. I can't go to the location in oh right now because i am in houghton Mi way in the up so I will probably look in WI.

A/C calls & other summer activities have taken up all of my time the past few months. I'll definitely work on them as well as make a batch of 3rd brake lights starting somewhere in late October and well into the winter. All you Genvibers will be the first to know any progress and when they'll be available. Hell it's because of ALL YOU guys/girls that I got the modding bug in the first place and now I have to follow through & deliver
ok sooo I know about the rims now the tires.... The tires that come stock on the 16 " wheels are 205 55 16 but the ones on mine are 215 45 17 i used the tire calculator and if i get 16" steel the size closest to mine are 225 50 16 so my question is do i get the stock 16" size or the 225? will the 225 50 16 rub at all? thanks in advance
I'd stick to the narrower (205) tires for winter. I'd even consider going to a 195/60R60. I have a set of 205/55R16 Blizzak WS-60's for winter. They were quite impressive for me last winter. Quieter and a more compliant ride than my stock RSA's - although I'm sure the rolling resistance was slightly greater as most winter tires will have that issue.Too wide a tire will try to ride up on the snow, as opposed to dig through it. The 225's may fit - but not what I'd choose. Taller profile tires give more rim protection as well for winter's bumps and bruises - especially from pot holes! That's why I'd consider the 195's. Some tire shops are pretty sticky about what they'll sell - so ask first to see. Technically my Blizzak's aren't the correct speed rating for the car - but I'm quite happy with how they perform. I'm a pretty conservative driver though - especially with expensive soft winter rubber on there.John
does anyone use firestone winterforce for winter tires? I found a set with low low miles for cheap. best of all they are the right size. just curious how they handled and your review
[QUOTE=midnighthunder89]anyone use firestone winterforce for winter tires? /QUOTE]I just bought a set for this coming winter. I think they were one of the recommended brands at Consumer Reports.
does anyone know if steelies from a 2008 altima will fit. i think it is the right bolt pattern and they are 16" just cant find anything on the offset of them.
Quote, originally posted by midnighthunder89 »does that mean it would rub or would it be ok? i am having a really hard time finding used steelsI believe, someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, that the wheels would be "sucked into" the wheel wells, so I suppose there would be a strong possibility of rubbing.I can't believe you are having a hard time finding Camry wheels. I found ours in no time. Honestly, $55.00 new isn't bad at all, if you get desperate.

This whole winter tire thing has had me online for WAY too many hours At least I'm educating myself on the tire topic. It looks like I'll be purchasing some 2009 Camry steelies locally (5 miles from my house) at NO MORE THAN $65 per rim. A local salvage yard (Liberty Wholesale auto parts) has them and tomorrow I'll call & negotiate. The fact that I'll need "the works" may give me leverage to "bundle" everything together and come up with a fair price. Craigs list and E-Bay had some good offers BUT they were not local enough to offset traveling OR shipping costs. I'll update fellow GenVibers when I find out more. Not to change the topic BUT seeing how my Vibe has NOT SEEN salt. ..... yet, makes me want to get something done to the undercarriage to help protect from corrosion. Our Canadian friends up north spoke of some type of "grease/ heavy oil" type of coating done to their vehicles. Is there any such thing available for us here in the midwest? Just curious

Guess what??? I'm heading down there tomorrow to get the EXACT same deal that you got Told the guy "how about $200 cash for four of them" and after a slight delay he said OK I'm taking extra cash with me so that if they have a good set of All-season or snow tires, then I may grab them also. Same on hubcaps & lugnuts. It sounds like if you wave some cash in their face they just might take it I'll update tomorrow when I return from their yard
